Hey kiddies,
Well, if Rich can do it, so can I! Here's the lowdown on my 2004 MRFH Resolution.
As I'm always, always, ALWAYS on the Forum, and because the posts have been dropping off lately, I want to pick it back up. So, here's the deal. The first SIX Forum members who make it to 666 posts by June 6 will each get to make a movie reviewing wish of me. My limitations:
- obviously, family safe. No "Debbie Does" titles. - nothing I've already reviewed. - nothing I can't physically get my hands on or see in theater. - NO FILLER POSTS. If I get the impression that you're making super short posts exclusively to pad your score, you stand a fair shot of being arbitrarily eliminated. - Justin gets final say on whether a movie's appropriate.
One last thing. I'll grant the wishes as they come up (ie. I won't just wait till June 6 if someone gets there beforehand), but if it takes until into the summer to get to 666 posts, I will defer until August. The reason? Getting married. There's not a snowball's chance in hell that "sorry honey, I'm reviewing Santa With Muscles, I can't help you with the floral arrangements" will EVER stand up in my house.
So there ya go. Don't want to play Rich's lottery? Just start yakking up a storm!
Today's frontrunners:
Hucklebubba (315) DarthToad (309) Der Germ (235) Grifter (195) Al (192) Uber (190)
Totally reachable. Start blabbering!

Note that two of our top ten posters are people who've been gone for months.

I'm here! I'm here! I don't get the chance to post much though 'cause I'm overloaded by music-related things, and hardly have any time for myself. (MY mistake was saying "Yeah, I can make a website covering one of the biggest frickin' punk scenes in california! No prob!" without realizing it was the ONLY one like that. yeesh)

Note that two of our top ten posters are people who've been gone for months. Well, that's very much the point. I'd really like for someone ELSE to become the elite posters, and for those who haven't disappeared to stay put. And the only thing I have to bribe them with are my questionable writing skills. Damn. Oh, and welcome back, Der Germ! Haven't heard a peep from you in an age!

With making three professional websites, looking for a job, two bands, five upcoming shows (one tommorow, yeesh), recording, and trying to put together still another band, I've barely had time to breath! Never the less peep.

hmmmm....3 and a half posts a day could do it... [Mr. Burns voice] Excellent.. nah, I just got here, and despite my initial onslaught of posts, that's probably just my "I must amuse or they won't think I'm cool" complex kicking in. Being a math instructor, I'm required to have 6 hours of Office hours a week. Since grading takes about 15 minutes and I don't have rehearsals until evening, I might be able to get closer than I thought. Man...now the pressure to come up with a good movie...dangit! *Luke-ish whining* Can we send in personal screenplays for you to review instead? (just kidding) Until the next huzzah

*Luke-ish whining* Can we send in personal screenplays for you to review instead? (just kidding) You can if you've filmed it and can deliver a tape to me! Otherwise, if I can't possibly find it (or if it's still a script, sheesh!) I'd say no. Look out, here come Justin's "home movies"...

Arbitrary Update! Hucklebubba maintains the lead, with 397 DarthToad isn't far behind, at 371 DocD83 is the come-from-behind favourite, with 283 DerGerm is slipping, with 280 Gunslinger Al is in it with a steady 235 Uber rounds out the top six with 219 Not surprisingly, Grifter's been pushed out of contention, an expected side effect of not having posted since July. I'm pleasantly surprised to see DocD83 shootin up out of nowhere into third, not having previously having been even in the top six. Cool! Honourable mentions so far go to Dajaymann, who I know is typing away at a fevered pace to catch up, Landatauron, who's on pace to make it, and BDC, who, if he could just post for more than a week at a time, would have already won this thing. Also, it's worth pointing out that Justin, Lissa, and Rich (FiveMileSmile) would be shoo-ins, were they only eligible. However, nobody's done yet! C'mon, set your sights on that evil number and get posting!

I had no idea I was posting so much. Go me!
Oh wait...does this imply that my real social life has gone to hell?

If on this forum I've learned anything, it's one thing. To get your post count up, always post on any "What are you listening to" threads. And a lot, because it's very easy to do that.

Well at least I'm not misrepresenting myself.

Also, it's worth pointing out that Justin, Lissa, and Rich (FiveMileSmile) would be shoo-ins, were they only eligible. I'm posting here, not only to protest the unfairness of this ruling, but also to show off my new Dancing Gir avatar. Two birds, one stone, and all that. - Rich
