Discounting the times I've met/hung out with pro wrestlers (it helps to have friends who have gone pro), the closest I've come is a friend who was an extra in Robocop 2. He was a punk kid with a huge blond mullet in the arcade who was tossing popcorn at Robocop. Funny story, a bunch of my friends and I were watching this at a recent party, and slo-mo'd through the scene. There's a part where there's supposed to be gunshots off to one side of the screen. Every kid looks towards the gunshots except for my friend, who is looking the other way. What a bongohead.
Oh, and I had a friend from college who was a punk kid extra in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Seems I just know too many punk kids

Wow, wish I had met someone at least quasi-famous. So I have no stories of meeting "that guy". However being in the Navy I have met several people who were extras in the movie Pearl Harbor. See, they just used active duty members who were already stationed on Pearl Harbor. None of them had parts larger than "Guy riding in back of truck".

Hmmm... my brushes (oh so fleeting) with the famous. My former mother-in-law often served as Harrison Ford's waitress when he was filming Witness in Pennsylvania, so that's a celebrity moment by association. More personal would be riding the same school bus for several years with Matthew McGrory - the giant in Big Fish - way back when. I remember him as very quiet, sort of sweet and having to get around with leg braces and crutches because of his accelerated growth. Last, but not least, I received a very nice hand written letter from Michael Palin back in the late 80's. That was a shock!
That's about it for me!

the closest I've come to someone famous:
1 - My great aunt once dated Strom Thurmond.
2 - The orthodontist who did my mom's braces also did Edward Norton's braces.
