As we're putting up a new poll every week on the front page, we need plenty of (movie-related) poll ideas! So submit your own, along with any selections you think should go in there.

Great ideas... keep 'em rollin! There's a couple really good ones there we'll have to use.
Pooly: we've already done the college film (or at least a poll about favorite college movies), it was our first poll.

I just naturally assumed your eyes were functional, as it is on the poll page, even now.

Favorite line from a Monty Python movie.
In what ways should George Lucas be punished for Episode I?
Favorite sci fi movie.
Oh how about "best movie trilogy," just to prove those guys wrong who voted 3,000,000 to 20 that the Mighty Ducks trilogy was better than the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Hey, the Ducks represent.
Actually, I do have a Mighty Ducks review that'll go up in a week or two.

Mighty Ducks 2 was the best. The first one was kind of boring and the 3rd one just sucked.

I suppose it really depends on your age group. Ducks aren't really intended for our age- not like LOTR is! And although LOTR is amazing, if you aren't into sword and sorcery, it's just not for you. MD's a little more crowd-pleasing. How about Singer that never should have become actor? Or Singer that does make a good actor? (Yes. I've started on my resolution. Someone's going to pay, although he DID take me to see Big Fish tonight and therefore has worked a lot of it off. THIS time. ) Liss

True, but you'd think you'd be able to put aside whether you liked one series over the other and recognize the technical and artistic superiority of Lord of the Rings.

I don't think so.
When I go to a movie, I want to be entertained. If I'm not into sword and sorcery, I'm not going to find Lord of the Rings a great movie. It might have a lot of special effects and a lot of stuff to look at, but if I think Tolkien's a dolt, then I'm not going to be impressed.
I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but there are an enormous number of opportunities for MST3K type mocking of LOTR. The movies themselves are fantastic and true to the book. But the speech of the characters is so freaking formal, and they take themselves SO seriously, that it can be very hard not to start giggling at times.
Do I absolutely love the LOTR movies? Yup. Do -I- think they're the best trilogy of all time? Yes. But do I also think Tolkien wrote some pretty ponderous dialogue? YES. I'll be honest- I've never been a huge fan of Tolkien's work. I recognize that he revolutionized the genre, and was a genius of plot, but he often got too bogged down in setting and the characters can sound rather wooden. I'm not saying that it's lousy, I'm just saying I can see where people wouldn't like it.
I do think that LOTR is the best trilogy made, and I do think that someone was just being a smart alec and raising MD's score. But if you are judging a movie solely on "did it entertain me?", then I can see where certain people would vastly prefer the Mighty Ducks to the LOTR. Artistry smartistry if it didn't entertain me. (Especially if I was bored for THREE HOURS as opposed to 1.5!)

I suppose the most obvious poll to me have to be one involving 'Who Would Win Between...' questions like...
'Who would win out of Ghandi and Sister Act 2; Back in the Habit'?
or
'Who would win in a Royale Rumble between Halloween Town and the other Holiday Towns'?
And then give an anaylsis as to how they would win when the poll closes.
