Anyone have those movies where they're so bad, that they're hilarious and you love them anyways?
Some examples for me would be Hackers, Lost Boys, Queen of the Damned, and Blade (wow, three vampire movies)
I love these movies because they're just so easy to make fun of. It's like they set themselves up on purpose!
Anyone know what I'm talkin about?

Well, yeah!
We watch Showgirls at least once a year.
I have Innocent Blood in my DVD collection.
Last weekend I rented Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter seeing it for a third time and I might watch it again this weekend.
And did I mention I'm slightly looking forward to the sequel to Underworld? Man, that movie was crap, but I still liked it. hehe.

I love movies like this. There's a theater here in Houston that shows what I like to call 'sub-par' movies (but the rest of the world calls them B movies) every Wednesday night at 10:00 for free. Thusfar, I've seen gems such as Ben, Snakes, Dark Star, Sinful Dwarf and Street Trash. Plus they also are a home for Mr. Sinus Theater 3000 (a live-action homage to MST3K), and those folks have trashed both good and bad movies in the past. I believe this weekend they're going to be showing Crossroads and mocking it. Worth a look...

I believe this weekend they're going to be showing Crossroads and mocking it. A highly enjoyable experience, I totally recommend it. Particularly if you can book Justin to join you.

My rates are as follows:
Sitting through Crossroads with you: $1,000 per hour
Sitting through Battlefield Earth: $2,500 per hour plus medication
Sitting through The Doom Generation: $200,000 per hour plus hospital bills

Was the Doom Generation really THAT bad? Now I'm tempted to rent it simply out of morbid fascination. You guys have piqued my curiosity.

GAAAAH!!! Noooooo!!!
Seriously, WHY do people take our review as a dare? Just stay away from it. Honestly. It's a waste of time, money, and brain cells. Just trust us, it's not some hidden reverse psychology, we'd happier knowing you didn't see it.

Haha, I don't take it as a dare...it just makes me wonder, really, how BAD could it be? I mean, I'm just curious if it's really as bad as you guys say it is.

Well, you started the thread looking for movies that are so bad you love them. Doom Generation is a movie so bad I actually wish harm on its creator. Be your own judge from there.

Wow...now I'm scared to rent it. But *curse you morbid fascination* I'll probably end up renting it anyway.
It could be an example of how NOT to make a movie (I wanna be a writer/director when I "grow up" so this may come in handy?)

Bafflingly enough, I hear TDG is quite popular in indie film circles, so it may in fact offer you something in the realm of "how not to do it". But it's infinitely offensive, to the point of me nearly vomiting a couple of times.
The ONE kind thing I might say about it is that the set design and decoration were, at times, pretty neat. But man, that's like dating someone solely because you like what kind of pants they're wearing.

Trust us -- every person who took our warning as a dare has generally ended up saying on the forums that it was not a bright move.

Yeah, I just read some of the "memorable quotes" from it on IMDb, and let's just say that made me reconsider renting it ...at least any time soon.
Also I noticed that this movie has a better rating than Drop Dead Fred. If The Doom Generation really is the holocaust you say it is...then this upsets me very much.

The Doom Generation has absolutely no redeeming value, whatsoever.
I saw it long before I discovered MRFH- the Graduate Student Association showed it (for free) before I had a life- or a VCR. I would pay to get those two hours of my life back.
What terrifies me is the people on the IMDb board who say that it was a wonderful movie, and that "if you don't get it, you're just dumb." (Or something to that effect.)

I'd sooner watch Drop Dead Fred. I've seen it, and it contained no relish-spitting severed heads or nazi castrations.
Yup.
