My friend actually used the Indiana Jones theme as the recessional for his wedding. It was his ONE thing that he demanded from the wedding, and by gum, he got it. Good for him. Yeah, a friend of mine used the Rocky theme, it was pretty awesome. His bride did just about everything else for the wedding, but after the kiss they were "Flying High Now"

I would have to say that Donnie Darko is my fave soundtrack, even tho i wasent alive very long in the 80's, movies like this bring me back. The way the songs flow into the movie is truely amazing, not to mention the erie instrumentals in the movie. My next would have to be the oooold version of Dune, that music rocked.

Romeo and Juliet is definitely has a good soundtrack, also Dude Where's My Car's is pretty good (and gets extra points for having "I'm Afraid Of Britney Spears" on it!), and Not Another Teen Movie, for its covers.

Casting votes for "The Last of the Mohicans," "Toys" and "Glory." Keying in to the Thomas Dolby theme, he's got a song on "Toys" which I highly recommend for its pop-synth silliness.

Going back a couple posts in this thread, I realized I haven't shared what track PoolGirl and I will (at this point in time, anyways) be using for our first dance.
Assuming we can come up with a somewhat reasonable dance routine to match a three and a half minute song (we're swing dancers, although she's much better than I am), we'll be playing It Had to Be You from the When Harry Met Sally soundtrack.

Oooh, nice choice! Very non-cliched.
And I'm impressed by anyone who can dance. We just went in slow circles and cracked up. Or at least I did.

PoolGirl and I actually met (in the romantic sense, not originally) at a nightclub during a swing dance lesson. Five years ago this past Feb 7. She's progressed a lot, I'm a little slower. But I can keep up enough to make it look like I know what I'm doing. ;D
And I like it too. I'm just hoping we can find a version that's Harry Connick Jr without the big fanfare at the beginning.

Yeah, I learned to swing one night while my baby was suffering from regurgitative sickness, so it was something sweet.
My nomination: The soundtrack from the movie Only the Strong. To be honest, "Paranue" by Serapis Bey is one of my favorite capoeira tracks ever.

Mmmm. I wonder... Almost Famous is good, but that seems to be a given. (Of course, I dun think anyone else has mentioned it...) Rocky Horror, definitely. I also like the scores to the Lord of the Rings movies, but not as obsessively as my friend... She listens to classical and modern rock, and as a result is very strange. Almost bipolar. She's all classical-music-acting one minute, then the next she's headbanging. Sheesh. Anyone else like this/have friends like this? Oh, and the Empire Records soundtrack is good, too, even though it lacks "Romeo and Juliet" by Dire Straits.

If I may offer a few more great soundtracks:
the Blues Brothers (with James Brown, Aretha, Ray Charles; covering Taj Mahal, Robert Johnson, Solomon Burke...how could you possibly go wrong?)
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (Jack Nietzsche)
And, in addition to Pulp Fiction, add Kill Bill, Vol 1 and Reservoir Dogs (Who can ever listen to Stuck in the Middle With You or Coconut the same way?).
As far as game-soundtracks go, I think the Final Fantasy Series is top-notch.

I had a friend who would put the disc into her CD alarm clock, and set the wake-up to the Ape Hangers "I Don't Want to Live Today". classic ;D

The music from The Fifth Element might seem a little dated, but I thought it awesome when the movie first came out. I'm not the only one it seems, since I keep seeing the soundtrack in other people's cd collections.

As far as game-soundtracks go, I think the Final Fantasy Series is top-notch. I can't believe I didn't think about that one. The Blues Brothers was such an awesome movie, and the soundtrack was a huge part of it. And they did the theme from Rawhide. And I also second the Final Fantasy choice, because any praise to Final Fantasy=good.

My fiancée's childhood friend, who was a goth through and through, actually did have the Imperial March played as the processional for her wedding. Complete with a blood red dress, a top hat, and a bouquet of dead flowers. I'm sorry I didn't see this personally, it sounds like it may have been one of the most amusing things ever! And I thought I was the only one this had happened to; damn you Pooly for stealing my story. Yes, two friends of mine also got married after the bride came down the aisle to the Imperial March. I was an Usher at that wedding too. And to keep on topic, for me personally my choice are:- The Soundtrack(s) to Baz Lurhmann's Romeo and Juliet (I liked the song one so much I bought it 3 times and gave it away to people) The Soundtrack(s) to The Crow; which have (on the first one) some excellent rock/industrial songs which not only all feature in the film, but suit the mood perfectly, and (on the second one) have some really wonderful instrumental peices. - Rich
