I'm surprised there isn't a topic on this yet.
I haven't seen the original, nor do I have a zombie fetish like everyone else in the world does. I might go see this movie, but I want recommendations from you, the MRFH public. Discuss.

Kyle and I have reviews upcoming... the crowd I went to see it with (mostly geeks) had an enjoyable time with it. Enough with the running zombies, tho. I miss the lurching.

I beg to differ. I don't find normal zombies scary at all. "Oh, I can't get away from you, lumbering slow thing!"
Everyone says to me, "But it's stupid, cause they're dead- they should have rigor mortis and be stiff!". Well, we're talking about walking corpses eating people, Mr. and Mrs. Oh-So-Realist.
So yeah, running zombies all the way.
Karley- ...wearing mithril, even!

Who WANTS to be scared by zombies? Zombies aren't things to be feared, they're things to be loved, and cuddled, and to nuzzle your bum!
Waitaminute... I smell a crossover thread!

Saw it, liked it.
Not really much else to say; though 28 Days Later may well have something to answer for as far as running zombies is concerned.
However, those of you who enjoy your Zombies lurching have Resident Evil:Apocalypse to look forward to.

I'm managing to get very confused in my head between Shaun of the Dead and Dawn of the Dead. Do we think this was deliberate planning on the part of the movie morons (guess my views from language and win a prize!)?
I loved the ideas in 28 days later - my comrades and I, post the revolution, were having very detailed discussions as to the various endings, and whether the portrayal of the military as two weeks from paedophilia was really fair. Quick zombies were the least of the contentious items!

I'm not saying DotD is a masterpiece by any means, but for entertainment factor alone, it's far above 28 Days Later. Kyle disagrees. Therefore, I will commit hari kari.

I want to see Dawn Of The Dead. And this is a big deal for me, because I am not all on-board the horror express. Scary movies usually scare me, and then I end up looking like a big dork, because all my friends just laugh.
But this looks like one worth seeing, even though I haven't seen the original.
But, anyways, I think that running zombies are better than lurching ones. Lurching ones just have the whole "strength in numbers" thing, which is rather scary, but running zombies have strength in numbers, AND the fact that you don't have 80 hours to wait for the zombie to maybe, possibly, if you have a broken ankle, catch to you.
