Has anyone heard anything about "Mean Girls"? I'm really looking forward to it. Sure, it's the new Lindsay Lohan movie, but look at the facts: 1) It's the first screenplay from super-funny Tina Fey, who also co-stars. 2) The few advance reviews that have leaked online have been really positive. 3) It has Amy Poehler in it, and she doesn't do enough movies. 4) The trailer, up at www.meangirls.com, while not spectacular, does have some good lines and shows promise. 5) It's Lohan's first PG-13 movie and officially marks her emancipation from Disney. 6) People have been comparing it to "Heathers" as far as insight, wit, and satire, but minues the violence. Anyone else got any thoughts on this? I think it's been a while since there's been a really good teen movie (although "Girl Next Door", which I caught an advance screening of, was incredibly great) and this could be a future cult classic. It opens April 30, and I will totally be there. And it just occured to me that "Envy" got pushed to that date as well, which means I have 2 Poehler movies in one weekend... Hooray for everything!

Maybe a sleepover was a *bad* idea. </Vicious peanut butter commercial>
Anyways, this has only been up for a few hours, late at night on a Tuesday. Why are y'all declaring it DOA before anyone even sees it? It's not like I'm tearing my hair out over here wondering why no one else is interested in the movie.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to go cry myself to sleep.

You made me watch Slackers. You said that you liked it and that more people should see it. You are dead to me... - Rich

i'm actually really looking forward to it, for obvious and not-so-obvious reasons. tina fey wrote it, and i'm expecting biting humor and whatever. the obvious reasons are so obvious, i won't even go into them. kyle

I'm not a Tina Fey fan in general, but I'll reply simply because you made Rich watch Slackers, and therefore are my personal hero for the day.
I actually heard Girl Next Door was getting good reviews. Mean Girls looked somewhat interesting, and might be a good one to take my junior high girls to go see. Don't know enough about it yet to really have an opinion.
I do still want to see The Prince and Me, though. Call me a sucker for Julia Stiles and princess movies.

Rich bitch bitch bitches, but the man's subjected himself to far more terrible movies than Slackers all on his own. He just wants a hug, then he'll shut up.

Hey, Rich, cry about it, whydoncha? Besides, I could have done much worse. And still might. There's an awful lot of months left in the 2K4... But if it's gonna result in all this drama each time, then forget it.
I had a nickname for you! You wanna know what it was? I'm not gonna tell you. Alright, it was "Laser".

Actually, I was more offended that I had to shell out the £6.50 to watch the last twenty minutes than I was about the film And while you may have worse threats in store, my friend, the rules of the game specifically state you can't play if you've won before... MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Victory is mine In all honesty I thought it was a pretty bad film, but I enjoyed writing the review; I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did - Rich

You mean I won't be able to win again, Rich? How sad. I had a great movie lined up for you.
If anyone's looking for a movie for Rich to review next month and you keep coming up empty-handed, please feel free to IM me. I've got on that will blow his socks off...
