www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/The CIA World Factbook. This site has pretty much everything you would ever want to know about every country in the world. I wish I knew about this when I was younger and had to do school projects on various countries.

What do you get when you cross six grown men, the Austin music scene, stripey socks, and bad fake English accents? Why the Jolly Garogers of course: jollygarogers.com/As the entrance page says, the site is "Rated a Rrgghh!" "Jolly Garogers Fun-Fact #42: Most pirates are pathologically afraid of clowns."

So if you've ever wondered what it would be like if I were British, living in England with my mad German girlfriend and our kids, and keeping a hilarious website about things we argue about -- and really, who hasn't? -- then have I got the website for you. It's uncanny, this guy is like my Personality Twin. And, you know, I'm as blindlingly funny as he is. Really. I swear. www.thingsmygirlfriendandihavearguedabout.com/-D Drew, I hadn't actually read this until today, but geez... knock me over with a funny hammer. That's awesome. Especially the one where she keeps bothering him during TV movies.

I don't know how many Christians we have floating around on these boards, but there's a website I visit daily that has *excellent* internet radio broadcasts of R.C. Sproul's sermons. He's one of my favorite theologians, not only because he has a pretty firm grasp of reformed, Calvinisitic teachings, but also because he's incredibly personable and interesting to listen to. I just finished listening to his series on Christian marriage, which was highly relevant at this point in my life. Anyway, if you're interested: www.ligonier.org/radio/archive.php

Let me take this opportunity to place my position on marriage (and gay marriage) up here. I am an agnostic, which means that I don't yet buy either side of the God/no God argument, I'm not yet convinced enough either way. However, from everything that I've learned about the institution of marriage, I've come to know that for at least 10,000 years marriage was based on religion.
For this reason, and for the supposed seperation between church and state, I argue that marriage laws SHOULD NOT EXIST. Instead, I propose that marriage should be as it has always been, a religous function. This way people can be married if a higher authority in their chosen religion accpepts it and agrees to perform the ceremonies/rites that this entails.
The legal matters can be taken care of by offering civil unions to anyone that wishes to get married, or actually for anyone that wishes to fill out the paperwork, marriage or no. This would handle estate laws and decisions as well as other legal matters.
Has anyone else ever proposed this, and if not why not??? I think it would make everyone happy. The people that are 'for marriage' get to determine for themselves what they consider to be a marriage, the seperation between church and state remanins intact, and all legal issues arising from these matters can be more easily resolved.

Questions? Comments? Opposing Viewpoints? But perhaps not in the "Linkage" thread, apt as the word may be.

Someone sent me this link, it's interesting if for no other reason than the site exists... www.cinemorgue.com/index.htmlA list of actresses' (mostly) and actors' on screen deaths: The movie, how they died, and who killed them (if they were murdered). A little bit movie trivia and a little bit morbid. I'd rate it PG13, since it describes the deaths and there's a picture for each actor of one of their death scenes which can be a little gruesome. Also SPOILERS are everywhere.

At least until I get to them, anyway.... Ah, Nintendo. I'd feel nostalgic if I had ever owned an original Nintendo.
