20 Scary Old School Surgical Tools.Once I looked at the picture I was hardly able to finish reading the description of what the tool was for. These are some of the most squirm-inducing old surgical tools that I have seen.

A guy makes a $300 short film, posts it on You Tube, and days later has a $30 million deal with Sam Raimi's Ghost House pictures for a Sci-Fi thriller. Story and video here.

This one blew my mind a little bit... Is Portal's GLaDOS based on Botticelli's The Birth of Venus? May seem a stretch, but the guy's got a solid case!

I'm in the middle of watching that review a second time, Justin. Great find!

That's a treasure, Justin. I could have done without the serial rapist/killer humour, but the actual deconstruction of Ep I was classic.

I could have done without the serial rapist/killer humour... Yeah, I've already been ostracized from several places for thinking that this stuff went too far over the top and wound up hurting the review. The murdered wives and pizza rolls are part of a whole 'mythology' that he's built over the course of his Star Trek reviews. They were funny at first but got more pronounced and less amusing with each callback, and finally in this one I just wasn't digging it at all. His commentary on the movie is both hysterical and 100% correct (I wish I'd thought of it first), but I'd actually rather watch his videos on Generations, First Contact, or Insurrection any day of the week.

Boy, this place is a hotbed of conversation lately, isn't it? Anyway, why not test your knowledge of lyrics? Specifically, those of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. I got 44/46 with 2:25 remaining before I gave up.

I made a Spaced playlist. It's as concise as I could make it, as some songs weren't available on this website. Enjoy.

Observe the hilarity of Crying Wife.com. This cruel husband watches movies with his wife and then films her crying. After all of them.Lord of the Rings? Check. Star Wars? Check. Back to the Future THREE?!? Check. I especially love the look on his face when he sneaks his own grin into frame. Classic.

I personally have a great friend who can bawl at the drop of a hat over any movie even slightly emotional. Please don't ask me what it was like when she was pregnant. When her friends/hubby laughed about it she would just start crying with laughter herself. She knew it was silly, but it was uncontrollable and nothing she was afraid to laugh about. I haven't looked at all the videos yet but the Star Wars one was great. Darth Vader? You're crying over Darth Vader? Well okay...that was a very tearful scene "He's looking at his son for the first time with his own eyes. WAAAAHHH" I get it.

That's such crap. Admittedly I don't generally get around to renting something as soon as it's released anyhow, but sucks for those who do. I hate money-making ploys like this. I also have to ask: The article says the deal was to push people into buying the DVD rather than renting it but couldn't someone who doesn't want to pay 20-something for a title just rent it from their local video store instead? I know the article mentioned RedBox (the enemy of the entertainment industry ), so I'm just curious as to whether or not traditional rental mediums were taken into consideration? But on the plus side-the deal guarantees more streaming titles, so that's good.

Give it a year, I bet it'll quietly disappear. And any other in industry will watch from the sidelines and make their decision based on what happened.
