I know he'd never call attention to this himself, but I've been doing the counting, and it just can't be overlooked.
Head Mutant Justin Olivetti has reached an amazing plateau, and deserves a little "stand up n' cheer".
His review for Deep Blue Sea was his five hundredth movie review on the MRFH. I can't tell you how awesome this is. Of the total 1148 reviews we've got charted on the page, Justin has written five hundred.
To give you a little perspective on that:
- Kyle's in second place with 166 (that's almost exactly one third as many).
- assuming an average movie is 100 minutes long (an arbitrary number I pulled from my posterior just now), that means he's reviewed 50000 minutes' worth of film. No typo. Fifty thousand. And I'm guessing that's low.
- 50000 minutes is 34.7 days. Think of what you did on Valentine's Day this year, and imagine watching movies 24/7 from that day until now. That's over 34 full solar days spent watching movies, plus reviewing time, which is probably just as long, for this site and its readers. Never mind watching other movies, and never mind watching things twice or more (considering his Rule of Two, there's a good chance this number should be dramatically higher).
- with a crew of 19 people over time, Justin is directly responsible for 43.5% of the reviews on the site. (and that's JUST the reviews... have you seen how many features this guy's written?)
So seriously, give the boy a pat on the back. The MRFH is his baby, and we all know it, but every now and again I'm astounded at the passion Justin puts into this thing.
Way to go, Big Banana.
