Hey, gang. The first trailer for Spider-Man 3 is up, and... wow. This is going to be THE movie of 2007, mark my words. If you've got Quicktime 7.1, you can view it at the following site, but fair warning now: aside from the two villains we already knew about, the trailer depicts a third that, if you want to stay completely unspoiled, you probably should steer clear. Gonna be a loooong wait till next summer...(Also, Gwen Stacy? Fox! Looks like a reversal of the classic MJ/Gwen Stacy dynamic from the comics.) -D

Rats! and I've got to wait till I get home to see it! Sometimes, being an obsessive fanboy is just plain annoying. Er..I meant to myself - not other people. That's a constant

Saw it today on Superman (which more than makes up for the sad lack of decent or interesting trailers I got with X3, but that's another story...). Wow. I will be there with bells on (but not literally). Between this, and the Wolverine movie which is supposed to be coming out in '07, and the possible '07 release date for Joss' Wonder Woman, I think next year is going to be a very good year for comic book adaptations.

I just watched that today also! It looks amazing, and I am filled with glee...much how I felt first seeing the Spider-Man 2 trailer...looks can be deceiving (good review Kyle).

Reviving this thread because the new S-M 3 trailer is up, revealing even more of the good stuff. The Sandman special effects look amazing. As for the storyline... too early to tell. There's one particular plot point raised that I'd heard rumors of, but didn't really believe until now. Highlight below if you want to be spoiled: Apparently Sandman is the guy who actually killed Ben Parker... there were really two people who tried to carjack him, Spidey caught the first one but Sandy got away. If that's true, not a red herring, it would... kind of invalidate the whole poignance of Peter Parker letting the burglar escape, only to have it came back to bite him, wouldn't it? "If only I hadn't been so arrogant, I could have stopped the guy who killed Uncle Ben... well, okay, not him, but the guy standing next to him when he did it."Anyway, more of the black costume, and it's looking more and more like the focus will be on Peter wearing the costume, not Venom. Harry gets a little screentime as well. What do you all think? www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=8862-D

As I'm sure I've mentioned before, Spider-Man is my desert island, all-time favorite superhero. I own both of the first two Spider-Man movies on DVD and watch S-P2 all the time. That being said, I am jumping out of my skin in anticipation for the third installment. It looks like it'll be amazing. My only 'thing' is, will it suffer the third hero movie blues? Batman Forever, Superman 3, X-Men: The Last Stand...and I could probably think of more if I weren't so tired right now. In the back of my head, I'm half expecting it to suck like X3 did (Thanks Brett for ruining every third superhero movie I will ever see...).
In other news, that final shot of the short trailer, with dark spidey hanging upside down, with his normal reflection in the window is the coolest shot I've ever seen in a trailer.

I'll say this... the whole "I'm a superhero, and therefore extremely mopey" doesn't look like it's going away one bit. There wasn't room for ONE laugh in that trailer?
