Hello all! I've been away for a while dealing with some issues outside the net which have caught up with me, and resting a broken ankle... Since Jan 9th, I've had to go to a childrens ward a few times, and have had some metalwork put into my ankle. Not very nice. Anyway, I was able to get a copy of the X-Ray on my computer and would very much like to share with you all =^.^= 'Tis kinda gross so if your not sure, just dont bother looking... Yeah, um, I'm sorry about that. Y'know, I just don't know my own strength...

how did you break it?
I remember when I was 14 I broke my arm, cuz I was hanging off a b-ball hoop, and I fell with my arm underneath me. Haha, I was a dumb kid then.

I was playing football or "SOCCER", I went to kick the ball, I got about a foot of air and then landed on it funny. [Edit] To make matters worse, 4 kids the other day broke my nose and I just ricked my neck headbanging to For Whom The Bell Tolls...Thats just great....

That's pretty nifty. Disclaimer: I majored in biomedical engineering. With that out of the way--
Is it all stainless steel or did they put in some absorbable polymers in there, too? I don't suppose you know who made your implants? Are they going to take out any of the work when you're healed? I know they don't do that as often as they used to (my biomechanics professor said one of his friends had a huge metal pin, maybe 12" long, on his mantel. He had broken his femur and they put it in the hollow where the marrow is. Once it was healed, they took it out and he put it on his mantel). However, I didn't know if they'd have to take stuff out because you're still growing.
My mom had something similar done to her ankle. She slipped getting out of her car. Now she can predict the weather with it.
Have fun going through airport security! I was stuck behind a woman who went through the metal detector several times, setting it off each time, before admitting she had a hip implant. Hello! I think the fact that you had a big metal thingy in your hip, especially when it gets there via major surgery and intensive recovery, would be hard to forget, especially when you go through metal detectors!
FYI--you might want to photoshop that x-ray to remove your full name, birthdate, and the name of the hospital. Not that I imagine there are nasty people on this forum, but safety first and all that. Especially since you're a minor.

Just FYI on Magill's FYI...
I "broke" your link to the picture in your post above. I'm cool with the actual picture being on the Forum, but your personal info is not a good thing to be spraying around.
Want me to photoshop out the sensitive info and email you back a copy? Let me know!

There you go... all the gross hardware, none of the sensitive info. Evidently Robert is a Libra, and I found it appropos that he goes to Dr Moreau.

You poor honey! Don't worry about the metal detectors, I've got loads of pins in my ankles still from past ops, and I've never gone beep.
Well, there was this one time, but I think that was the shopping cart I had concealed under my coat. Big coat, of course.
