Apparently it's in production now: www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr/film/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1000972245Sounds like it's going to be a typical entry in the ongoing Boll effort to royally p* off videogame fans. The mystery to me is how he ever got Jason Statham and Lelee Sobieski and (!) Ron Perlman??? Why, Mr. Perlman, why? ...To all agree to this. I'm no longer surprised at John Rhys-Davies, having seen him in a couple of extremely B-grade outings lately. And Kristanna Loken, well, after Bloodrayne she's pretty much stuck with Boll, because who else is going to touch her? I think it'll probably be hilarious, although I sincerely hope someone talks him out of his planned 3-hour "dark and epic" running time. I have ongoing nightmares that Blizzard Entertainment will drop acid one day and let him have the rights to Warcraft...

I just watched the trailer. It looks mediocre. Some of the people on the Idmb forums (which I'm on) say it looks like Boll's most promising and I agree, it just may be bareable.

I thought an advance trailer for it came out quite a while back... was a notorious stinker (the full name is "In The Name Of The King: A Dungeon Siege Tale").

Although, on the 0.0001% possibility it's actually a good film... I don't know what I'll do with my life then.

"Boll said "Dungeon Siege" will transcend the video game genre and appeal to mainstream audiences. He added that the film's blend of action and fantasy should appeal to fans of "The Lord of the Rings." A three-hour running time is envisioned...
..."This is a very dark, epic picture in the tradition of the Sergio Leone Westerns that blends the imaginative action of 'Hero' and 'House of Flying Daggers,' " Boll said. "Dungeon Siege" will have the fantasy and magic of "The Lord of the Rings," he said, but without the CGI focus. "
Does that sound Jon Peters-ish to anyone else?
"And I want Superman to fight a giant spider in the third act."
I mean, come on...

Does that sound Jon Peters-ish to anyone else? "And I want Superman to fight a giant spider in the third act." I mean, come on... No, I'd say it sounds very, very Uwe Boll. It's the combination of relentless self-promotion with the subtle warning that he's about to take a giant (word deleted upon mature consideration) all over everything that was remotely interesting about the subject material. At least this time he chose one without much of a plot, so you'd think there wouldn't be that much he could scr - (Recalls viewing of House of the Dead) Oh, (censored).

Yeah. Exactly. I mean, who allowed him to begin making movies? I wouldn't let him direct traffic, let alone a whole film.
