I don't really get why fight club is in almost every list! So dissapointing. Edit: I really need to learn how to spell dissappointing. Third time's the charm? Disappointing. -D

Tombstone (Two words. Val Kilmer.) 5. Amadeus 6. Empire Records (They filmed this near my hometown. Ha.) 7. Almost Famous 8. Stranger Than Fiction (It's just that good.) 9. Rushmore 10. Despite my previous complaint, I'm procrastinating and feel the need to list. No particular order.
1. The Apartment. Forget Some Like it Hot, THIS is Billy Wilder's best movie. 2. Amelie 3. Die Hard 4. Much Ado About Nothing 5. Raiders of the Lost Ark 6. Crimewave, an unbelievably funny, very hard to find Canadian movie 7. Dogma 8. New Waterford Girl 9. In America 10. The Lion King

10. Drop Dead Gorgeous 9. Rock & Roll High School 8. Snakes On A Plane 7. Dogma 6. The Warriors 5. Dazed and Confused 4. Empire Strikes Back 3. Breakfast At Tiffany's 2. Citizen Kane 1. The Graduate
It would've been mostly View Askew flicks and Star Wars, but I decided for more variety I'd just count my favorites of the series'.

Wow. Thinking of The Wall made me remember how much I love that one too, but how I love The who's "Tommy" a bajillion times more than half my list....
Pretend DDG is knocked off there and put Tommy at #5.

Tommy was weird. At first, I dug it. But now... it's just... less than impressive. When I saw it on AMC or some such channel, I was in awe beyond awe. Especially the "Acid Queen" scene. I thought, this is some of the most amazing filmmaking I've ever experienced. Then, I excitedly bought the DVD and... I deflated. But I really think I know why. It's... the music. I can't believe how underwhelming and, ultimately, nauseating the music is. With the exception of "Acid Queen" I don't like 1 single song in that whole movie. Then, the movie made absolutely no sense. And now, I don't even get what the point was. Tommy... finds religion? Finds God? Feels God in the Sun somewhere? Me big time confused. I also thought it was really downright low to make the pervy Uncle character gay. Very unfair portrayal in my opinion. Makes the movie look like it's demonizing gay people, and the religious thing just sinches it by film's end. Then, the baked beans thing nearly made me physically ill. The "Amazing Journey" song was sonically ugly (my ears went "ewwww"). Oliver Reed was just playing the same charater he always plays in movies. The Ann-Margaret character came off genuinely as both caring and apathetic at the same time (so, I didn't get it... she was okay exploiting him only if he could see and hear?). The scene where the parents are killed is viciously inappropriate and feels stupid and nonsensical. And I hate that terrible Country/Folk type song about the Priest's daughter who runs away.
And The Wall... I hate that movie more than words can say. That was one of the ugliest movies I've ever seen. It wasn't trippy, it was... sickening. It was just plain gross. And again... I was waiting desperately for any of the insanity onscreen to have some kind of point. It was one of the most uncomfortable viewing experiences of my life. It wasn't fun or interesting at all. I don't know, I guess these movies appeal to people who had messed up drug hallucinations when they listened for years to their records before these movies were made.

Just watched The Departed again and am debating whether I should put it in the top 10 or not. Awesome movie.

1.)Casablanca 2.)The Birds (from the guy with the blond fetish) 3.)Princess Bride 4.)The Red Balloon 5.)Dark Passage (yes, another from Bogie, this time with Bacall) 6.)Fifth Element 7.)Deep Impact (although the family bought Armaggeddon) 8.)Raiders of the Lost Ark 9.)Indiana Jones and the Holy Grail 10.)Cat On A Hot Tin Roof I find I can also watch most of the musicals over and over, the old ones that is... not the new ones with gore and studied vulgarity. I especially love the classic: Fiddler on the Roof. It seems I have a thing for roofs, hhhmmm. That's my ten most favorite doroanne
