Yes, I am woefully behind the curve on this one, but I saw this video clip recently and I want to spread it across the net. It is Star wars footage set to the score from "Requiem for a Dream" HOLY..... CRAP..... I am trrying to spread it about like the video from "The Ring". 7 days after you watch this clip..... your car keys will go missing, your ENTIRE dvd collection will self-destruct and all of you will irrevocably misplace every left shoe in your house. You have been warned..... www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRXZ_ImEJ0Yon your own head be it......

Pretty cool... although my inner geek is wrestling with whether replacing the Star Wars soundtrack is sacrilege, even if the new score is worthy. Hm...

Yes, it IS potential blasphemy to have a different score to it. You have to admit though, whoever it was that cut the whole thing together did an outstanding job.

I having recently watched Requiem for a dream and having fell in love with the score I am going to go as far as to say the Requiem for a dream score kicks the star wars score any day. No offense to the incredible John Williams.

Who could possibly take offense to a statement that says their most famous accomplishment is inferior to another work?

A bit off-subject I will admit, But I saw Requiem for a dream in a movie theater, with my MOM. I wanted to see it because it was directed by Darren Arronofsky, Mom wanted to see it because she read somewhere that Ellen Burstyn gave an incredible performance. Neither of us had a friggin CLUE what the movie was going to be about. Imagine our mutual and monumental surprise. Fantastic score though, truly stunning.

It's a good score, but it's one of those scores where just one track of it is good, and famous for being good. That one track is played over and over
and over
and over and over
for the entire film. Don't mean to say that I didn't like it, but Williams at least diversifies within a movie to tackle different themes, and Star Wars does not limit itself to just one great track of music. It has dozens.
