Help!!!!

Hey everyone, I need your help. I just got back from Blockbuster (That just opened) and I was browsing through the films. I came across one film called "The Vanishing" starring Kiefer Sutherland,Sandra Bullock and Jeff Bridges. The cover art alone made me want to buy it. When I read the plot summary I really wanted to buy it. However a nagging voice inside my head told me "It's 9.98 for crying out loud and you don't know if you will like it or not. Get Princess Bride instead". I listened to the voice in my head. Although I am happy with my purchase, I must admit I am still intrigued by the other movie. I highly doubt its at my local video stores and I dont want to rent from blockbuster because of their outrageous rental prices (I go there to buy only). Has anyone seen it, if so is it worth buying? All help appreciated.

I'd say bypass the remake and go for the original movie Spoorloos (American title The Vanishing). Or at least watch it first. The endings are very different... I'm going off a few years old memory here, so I may be wrong on the remake, but I'm pretty sure they're different.

The Keifer Sutherland one isn't bad, but the original one's better. I wouldn't say the remake is a buy. At least that's what I think.

It turned out my video store did have the remake. I just finished watching it and I am glad I didn't buy it.
