It was so very very cool. I could critique it, but over all, an awesome experience. See it in theatres if you can. And when you go to the bathroom (and you will, it's 3+ hours), try to go during Death Proof. Better yet, during the fake trailer "Thanksgiving." yeccccch.

I haven't yet seen "Grindhouse," but I can appreciate the concept behind it. Well, the whole double feature concept anyway. I may go see it simply for the novelty.

It's too bad this did fairly poor at the box office, but I think blades of glory deserves to be on top. It was really funny!

Dude, "Planet Terror" and the previews were about the only things about "Grindhouse" that were worth watching. Seriously, "Death Proof" is the most crap-tastic piece of boring, snore-inducing crap I have seen in years. It is without a doubt the suckiest pile of suck that has ever sucked a suck.

I just saw it today with my brother, and we both loved it. The Canadian release had an extra dummy trailer on it: Hobo with a Shotgun. It was basically a hobo with a shotgun. Machete was a totally awesome trailer as well. I'm not convinced Danny Trejo hasn't already been in that exact movie :-)
A funny thing happenned. Our local theater had a show at 12:20, and a show at 2:20. 5 or 10 minutes into Death Proof, which was probably around 2:20 or so, and these three kids come in. They obviously bought tickets to something else, and then snuck into the show. Only problem was, it was the wrong theatre. Anyway, the movie ended, and everyone left, and the kids went and asked the usher what about the other movie. Now that I think about it, my laughter about it is kind of schaudenfreude, which I usually don't get. Maybe the box office was so crappy because of kids sneaking in.
Oh, and I'm in love with Zoe what's-her-name from Death Proof. That girl is insane!

I will admit, Zoe's 100 MPH hood-ride WAS incredibly awesome and scary. They spend so much of the movie making Stuntman Mike a psycho character, and He just magically turns into a whimpering beeyotch once he gets shot in the arm. Crap I tell you, CRAP!!!!

Who directed which trailer? I really want to know what Edgar Wright did.
EDIT: What were the genres of each fake trailer? I'm not sure if I'll be able to see this in theatres but I'm definitely seeing Hot Fuzz.

Hobo with a Shotgun was directed by some no-name Maritime Canadian guy. The genre was whatever Walking Tall fits in: action, revenge, whatever.
Machete was basically the same as that Mark Wahlberg Shooter movie, except with Mexicans. Revenge and cheeseball actions. It was directed by Robert Rodriguez.
Werewolf Women of the SS was directed by Rob Zombie. Pretty much a female-prison-film/nazi/werewolf movie. There's no mistaking who did it, as it says "Directed by Rob Zombie. Starring Sherri Moon Zombie", etc.
Edgar Wright did Don't. That was hilarious. The genre was probably slasher movie, but it was totally ambiguous.
Eli Roth did Thanksgiving, which is supposed to be like Black Christmas or Halloween. He gives himself credit as well. Total slasher movie.

Why didn't they make actual films out of Machete, Don't, Werewolf Women of the SS, and Thanksgiving? I would gladly pay money to see ANY of those movies (even straight-to-video). Especially Machete. I wish Robert Rodriguez (or ANY director for that matter) would give Danny Trejo a starring role.

I'll be the first to say that's a horrible idea and an insult to moviegoers for obvious reasons.
