As Christmas is almost upon us, it's a good time share what Christmas movie traditions you hold -- if any!
I don't have a strict "must watch X movie on Y day", but I do make a point of getting through A Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation and the Grinch cartoon at least once a season. Other tag-ins include Die Hard and Millions.

Maybe we should start calling this article "Saturday Sunset"?
A Christmas Story is a must (just watched it the other night).
I also like to sneak in When Harry Met Sally nearer to New Years.

Not Christmas without Christmas Vacation.
I like to watch Die Hard II when the snow really starts to fall. As implausible a movie as it is, the action scenes are quite good especially with all the snow they had to keep shoveling onto Bruce Willis Man.

I have a list that varies constantly. In recent years, since there's only one VCR in the house now and it's relocated to my brother's room, I've had to seek out DVDs in my collection that happen to have some sort of Christmas to them.
RENT and The Nightmare Before Christmas have been my latest additions, and I always make a point to watch The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe this time every year. I have the BBC TV serials on VHS somewhere, but thankfully Disney put out a much prettier production of it (though the BBC ones are still near and dear to my heart).
If I go a Christmas without seeing the Charlie Brown Christmas Special, it just isn't Christmas.

I somehow end up watching The Ten Commandments every Christmas. It's never pre-planned or anything; it just so happens that one of the TV channels has it running during Christmas. This has happened for a long time now, and every year my befuddlement increases ten-fold. It didn't happen last year, but has happened for quite a long time. This year, I'll probably rent it anyway Oh and Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory is something I really like to watch during Christmas.

I make sure to check out all the Rankin/Bass stop motion films. I'll watch as much of those as I can. For the past couple of years ABC Family channel have been playing them so it's been easier of late.
Also, A Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation, and It's a Wonderful Life all get playtime as well as Bowl Week on ESPN.

A Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation, It's a Wonderful Life, Charlie Brown Christmas, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas are the must see ones. Not all in one go, but like during the month leading up.
Other movies I commonly watch during Christmas: The Ref, Scrooged, Shop Around the Corner, Arsenic and Old Lace ('cause there's nothing like a comedy set on Halloween about serial killing spinsters to get ye merry!), and, er... While You Were Sleeping.

Nary a year goes by without It's A Wonderful Life and Christmas Vacation playing on my TV, and very few without A Christmas Story. A Charlie Brown Christmas is watched almost every year, except this year when they showed it so darn early I was still busy with finals and didn't even know it was on until afterward. Not that I'm bitter. So we watched How The Grinch Stole Christmas in its place.

Y'know what? I really think It's a Wonderful Life is boring beyond hope. I have no idea what makes people watch it over and over again. Different strokes, I guess, but I don't have any need to see it again in my lifetime.

Grinch, definitely, and usually Charlie Brown. Rudolph occasionally, though I think I'd rather put it on mute and just watch it, as the story bugs me more and more every year.
On the very rare occassion that Comedy or CBC is showing either the Blackadder or Mr Bean Christmas specials, I am on that like ugly on a moose. My mom thinks Mr Bean is just about the unfunniest thing ever, but even she thinks the Christmas special is hilarious.
This year we're starting a new tradition. After we've opened our presents and are settling in for the day, we're going to put on our robes, pour a couple of White Russians, and watch The Big Lebowski. Heck, I think that's the best present we could give my brother.

It just means you're soulless, that's all. -D

Claims boredom his reason. It could be that his head wasn't screwed on quite right. It could be, perhaps, that his shoes were too tight. But I think that the most likely reason of all May have been that his heart was two sizes too small. (Awww, poor Poolman )

I'm going to take the heat off of Pooly. (That's the only gift he's getting from me this year.)
I hereby confess that I have never, and I mean never, watched "It's a Wonderful Life".
