Charlton Heston, who won the 1959 best actor Oscar as the chariot-racing "Ben-Hur" and portrayed Moses, Michelangelo, El Cid and other figures in movie epics of the '50s and '60s, has died. He was 84.

It's sad. Whether one agreed with the man's politics and gun control views or not, it's hard to argue with the fact that he was one of the most influential actors of the last century. He left quite a legacy, and he'll be missed.
In honor of the Heston, say it with me now: "You maniacs! You blew it up! Damn you! Damn you all to hell!"

I've got to say, I've always had a soft spot for his movies. Personal favorite line: "Soylent Green is people!" But you have to say it in a Charlton Heston voice.
Hey, wait a minute, where's the mention of Touch of Evil? You know, the movie where he plays a Mexican. Actually... that's a strange movie all around, what is up with Dennis Weaver?
