Whose your favorite Simpsons Character. Family and Non Family. I think my family one is sort of obvious But non family has to go for Groundskeeper Willy, Hale to the Shinning.

I'd have to say Barney. He's such a drunken slob yet he can introduce you to any famous person in the world.

Family is Grandpa Simpson. From his introduction in the first episode, he's been a source of many quotes, as well as uncountable laughs.
Non-family is a tie between two characters, neither of which have been on the show in years. Lionel Hutz and Troy McClure. Think of what those two crazy characters could be doing today had we not lost the comic genius of Phil Hartman.

family is Homer. I love his stupidity- and his occasional correct use of complicated concepts and words. (Karma can only be portioned out by the cosmos.)
Non-family... Mr. Burns, and his copy of Atlas Shrugged. Excellent....

When did Mr Burns have a copy of Atlas Shrugged?

Family: Homer. Except for "random job of the week" Homer, this would be a plot device that's getting old quick. Let's get Homererotic!
Non-Fam: SO many... I'll pick... Mr Burns. You've gotta love that complete disregard for everything that goes on around him.

Mr. Burn's archaic lingo, coupled with Ralph's extreme childism, paired up with the creepy crabbiness of Moe, and slathered with the sauce of Dr. Hibbert's hair... that's good eatin'!

Favorite Family Character: Bart's good twin. I don't know if everyone's seen that episode, but whatever...
Favorite Non-Family Character: Moe: Hey, IP Freely!

I'm familiar with Bart's 'good' twin. One o' da Treehouse of Horrors.
Family member: Grandpa "It was in nineteen-diggety-two, we had to say 'diggety' because the Kaiser had stolen our word 'twenty.'"
Non-family: Hmmm. Professor Frink: "Weh, uh, alright just stay calm Frinky. These babies will be in the stores while he's still grappling with the pickle matrix!"

Nobody ever says Maggie; screw it, I'm sayin' Maggie. Not for comedy, but for the single sweetest moment I've ever seen on that show: it was a flashback episode, detailing Lisa's first word, and at the end had Bart and Lisa fighting, Marge trying to restore order, leaving Homer to put Maggie to bed. For once, just once, he was so sweet and doting with her, tucking her in gently and saying, "The sooner kids talk, the sooner they talk back. I hope you never say a word, Maggie." Then he kisses her, turns out the light, and leaves... and we see Maggie smile, pull out her pacifier, say "Daddy," and then snuggle up to sleep. I don't know, it sounds stupid, I know, but they somehow made that cartoon so dang emotional; and whoever did the voice of Maggie for that one line just nailed it so well, it's absurd.
As for favorite non-family character... yeah, maybe Ralph Wiggum. "Me fail English? That's unpossible!" Although I've always had a soft spot for Cletus the Slack-Jawed Yokel.

When did Mr Burns have a copy of Atlas Shrugged? It's only a brief flash, if I remember it correctly. It's (I think) in the episode where Bobo finds his way home to Mr. Burns, and it's in a flashback. But yeah, as a kid he read Atlas Shrugged.

I also love Maggie, but the episode that tugs at my heart is the one where Homer has to go crawling back to Burns after Maggie is born. Burns puts up a sign that says "Don't forget; you're here forever." Homer pastes up photos of Maggie to cover parts of the sign until it reads "Do it for her."
Sniff.
