I know I'm not Polyester Rage, but I've got another gripe about TV execs being stupid... they stopped showing SNL reruns on Comedy Central. Now it's all about MAD TV. I happen to think that MAD TV is juvenile and really stupid, while Saturday Night Live is the epitome of the sketch comedy show.
No, wait, Monty Python's Flying Circus is the epitome. I stand corrected.

Well, that's a matter of opinion. And time travel!
Because for me, classic SNL (Aykroyd, Murphy, et al) is the best of all the North American late night skit shows. Mad TV, at the time it debuted, was in my eyes better than the version of SNL it ran against. But both have changed since. It's tough to say.
Monty Python was usually better than both, but if you watch the shows, I mean REALLY watch the shows, sometimes the non sequiturs could get to be a bit much.

I will have to agree. Some of that early Mad TV stuff was great. Raging Rudolph? Classic.

Heck, if you want to see some good sketch comedy though there's probably shows somewhere where you live. Sometimes that stuff can be really good, ya?

I live in the boondocks, where there is little to nothing on our public access channels. (But hey, we can get the Playboy channel on pay-per-view. Typical.) The last time I watched anything on public access, they had commercial breaks that lasted for nearly twenty minutes (or so it seemed) for every fifteen minutes of programming.

Did anyone see Donald Trump on SNL? The man has a great sense humour... it was cool to see him make fun of himself like that.

If we're talking SNL of a Farley/Sandler/Myers/Hartman vintage or older, then yeah, SNL is a shoo-in. However, present-day SNL vs. Mad TV is a conflict not so easily resolved. In fact, I think I'd have to give the nod to Mad TV. It has at least one likable character that I can think of right off, which is one more than SNL has.

Ya know, as far as North American sketch comedy goes, it's always been a toss up between Kids In The Hall and The State for me (you know, I'd probably side with The State, I just ain't seen it in years upon years). Hey, hey, now that's just not true. Need I remind you of the smokin' hot Tina Fey? Those glasses... mmmmmmmmmm..... -D Agreed. Fey can rock my world anytime.

Did anyone see Donald Trump on SNL? The man has a great sense humour... it was cool to see him make fun of himself like that. I had a waiter that came up to our table last night, and said, "Tonight's soup is the baked potato with cheddar soup... you're fired." Apparently he was making fun of Trump, from SNL's episode. I hadn't seen it. Oh, and by the way, the waiter's name... Fish. I kid you not.

However, present-day SNL vs. Mad TV is a conflict not so easily resolved. Actually, Celebrity Deathmatch would easily resolve it
