...Or am I just a freak of nature for having watched it?
I'm a huge fan of "I Love the 80s", "I Love the 70s", and "I Love the 80s Strikes Back". In fact, I already know what I'm going to do for Spirit Week at school this year... eh heh, they have retro day and gender bender on the same day, so I'm going to somehow scrounge up a Boy George getup. ;D
Anyway, back to the subject. Usually it takes a whole meandering thread to accomplish such. I'm doing it all in one post!
Ahem.
So, I'm feeling like a total geek right now because I've actually steeled myself to bring back my childhood in heinous pop culture highlights. (Bah. Hanson still makes me shudder. And all the other bubblegum flash-in-the-pans. And let's not start on the Beanie Babies.)
Anyone else feeling especially nerdy?

I've caught a few episodes so far, have been entertained. But, they were early 90's episodes. I refuse to accept that one could possibly look back in retrospect at things that happened at the end of the decade - not enough time has passed. I'm a sucker for the retro shows, though. We even have a few trivia games (The 80's game and the 90's game), although we haven't played them a lot recently (I always beat Lissa). After all, I was old enough to remember the 80's...

Being in Japan without VH1 makes it a little harder to see the shows. However being that I was 10 when the 90's started I was looking forward to seeing things I might actually remember (unlike in I love the 70's). So I found a place to download them. They were alright. Not as good as I love the 80's. Being that it wasn't that long ago might have had something to do with it. I only have two suggestions for their next "I love the XX's" and it's the same two suggestions I've had since the first 80's show.
1. Get rid of Michael Ian Black. He's annoying and he trys to hard to be funny.
2. More Hal Sparks. That is one funny mofo.

Okay, I disagree with number one, but that's because I'm easily entertained and I love quoting what he says around random unsuspecting people. Number two I heartily agree with. No one seems to understand the hilarity of Hal Sparks. Unfortunately. I'm in the middle of watching the 1995 episode, it's okay. I'm mostly making snide comments about pogs. Dang, those things were annoying.

Best thing about I Love the 90's:
Jay and Silent Bob rename your favorite TV shows.
'Nuff said, snoogins.

The first thing my mother said when it premiered is:
"Okay, the dancing baby has GOT to go."

I'd agree completely if you'd just replace "ichael Ian Black" with "o Rocca." I guess I'm just allergic to effeminate lisping geek comedians. See, Michael doesn't lisp. Completely agree with #2. There's another funny guy whose name I forget. Kind of chunky. Looks a little like Sean Astin.

Hal Sparks is the man. And Michael Ian Black really doesn't bug me too much, though I don't think he's that funny. You know who I like, just because of his awful southern accent, and the fact that he's semi-amusing? Edwin McCain. He has limp long hair just like a good friend of mine.
Speaking of my friends who look like VH1 talking heads, I know a guy who looks and acts like Hal Sparks. He's the funniest guy I know. Most of the time in his presence I just end up collapsing and looking like a complete idiot.

I love all the "I love (place decade here)" shows. They're all entertaining. And I guess I'm the only person who really, really likes Michael Ian Black. Sigh, Oh well. But I do like Hal Sparks!

Michael Ian Black is okay, but Hal Sparks is hilarious. More Hal Sparks!

Why isn't Hal Sparks on "Best Week Ever"? Or am I missing something? It's a travesty.
