So is anybody watching this new Denis Leary show on FX, about the firefighters getting on with their lives in the aftermath of 9/11? I've only seen about 1 1/4 episodes (well, out of the 3 that've been broadcast so far), but looks like some really good stuff. Nice mix of drama and comedy; Leary's conversation with his father in tonight's episode (complete with subtitles) was hilarious.
"Ah, I'm just watching the game. Your mother's, uh, upstairs doing something, I guess." "Yeah? Who's playing?" [Is everything okay, Dad?] "Ehh, the Yanks are gettin' the {poop} kicked out of 'em by the Sox, it's a pain to watch."
Looks like I'll be adding another show to the list of 24, Sopranos, Scrubs, and The Simpsons. Curses!

I've been watching since the second episode. I'm a huge fan of Denis Leary and I swear, this time I'm going to actually latch on to a good show at the beginning, not wait until it's been on for months.
And I'm really enjoying it. It's Denis Leary's stand-up persona, but with a little more depth and a drinking problem. And I do so love Denis Leary's stand-up.

I wouldn't mind so much if it was just the constant nudity (actually, if I didn't watch the show with my mother, it'd be a big incentive), but it seems like Leary's character has gotten less and less likeable with every subsequent episode. Gotta hit that fine line, Dennis, between "heroic but very flawed" and "God, I hate this guy."
