Does anyone know if the DVDs of this show have been released in an...american dvd player friendly format? I've been wanting to check this show out, but since I live in Florida...I can't. Just wondering.

i have no idea what your talking about but let me try to offer my advice. on ebay there are universal dvd players that may or not be illegal to own. basically they're all region dvd players. why are there region dvd players you ask?! VERY GOOD QUESTION. its to keep the economy of areas un-screwed up. so they keep dvds seperated. otherwise everyone would just import everything a-la the chip you could put in your ps1 to play imports and burned cds. the fallout is, its a royal pain to import some things. search on ebay for all region dvd players search.ebay.com/all-region-dvd-players_W0QQsokeywordredirectZ1QQfromZR8

Once again, here I am to the rescue - after all, if you think importing stuff is a pain, imagine how much fun I have with the 6-8 month barrier the Atlantic seems to be between releases. Anyway, let's see what I can do to help. 1) No, there isn't a Region 1 release of Spaced anywhere - sorry. It's not even appeared on American TV yet, so I imagine the market for a DVD release would be pretty limited. 2) All hope is not lost however. The first thing you will need to get for yourself is a multi-region DVD player of some kind. Several consoles which can play DVD's can have their DVD de-regionalised with Gamesharks or the like; you can re-set the DVD region on your PC DVD drives (but only a maximum of 4 times I think). Or, you can click on this handy link and have a look through there for the make and model of your DVD player - most commerical DVD players have a menu that you can access to 'turn off' the regionalising features. This page lists just about all of them - it certainly worked for mine, and lets me play Region 1, 2 and 3 DVD's flawlessly (set your player to Region 0 - that's the Multi-region option). 3) Once that's done, go here and search for Spaced - they offer free worldwide delivery and have the first season for £5.99 (about $12) and the Second Season for £7.99 (about $16) or the Complete Collectors Edition for £16.99 (about $30). They're very reliable and pretty speedy for deliveries as well. And finally, a little rant because this is something that really bothers me. DVD Regionalisation is NOT a Copyright Issue. It's solely and completely a marketing mechanic created by the DVD industry. Importing DVD's from other regions is not illegal. Nor is owning or modifying a DVD Player to play DVD's out of region. These restrictions on your entertainment don't apply to books, CDs, Videos, Computer Games, or indeed any other form of recognise distributed entertainment. Don't let them grind you down. Fight the power! Also, buy and watch Spaced because it's awesome. - Rich

I think he may have been watching another lame domino's pizza commercial, the one for that nasty looking double layer pizza.

Here's a novel idea for pizza companies: instead of constantly offering new, gimmicky pizzas that are nothing more than a thinly disguised or modified version of their older pizzas, how about coming out with actual GOOD, and TASTY pizzas that don't instantly make your heart CRY when you take a bite?

HI LOSERS! HI LOSERS GET A LIFE! GET A LIFE! It has a nice beat, and I can dance to it! So, am I to take it that the purported "life" referenced above consists of shambling around the internet and deriding random strangers? Deep, man.

For those of you who don't want to go to the expense of buying a region-free DVD player, tune in to Trio ( I know it's on DirecTV, not sure about digital cable - look at triotv.com). They aired Spaced all throughout September (to coincide with the release of "Shaun of the Dead") and will be airing a marathon on the 29th and 30th of January. Better get my video tape ready.
