"X-Men is coming back to TV in a new animated series that will focus on Wolverine and be produced by First Serve Toonz in India. Marvel and First Serve are set to produce 26 episodes set to debut in 2007, with Marvel handling domestic distribution and First Serve taking on the international and DVD duties. Series is the third toon outing for X-Men, after the 1990s Fox Kids version and X-Men Evolution."
Ok...
Just a couple of comments: you'd think that Marvel, you know, what with their million and one characters, might want to get some airtime for characters other than their already well known family and, more specifically, the most over-exposed character in all of comics (I'm looking at you Wolverine!).

You think that, but what you're forgetting is that Marvel only care about the moolah.
Over-exposure has all but killed my love for Wolvie.

Ok, one should probably look towards the Spiderman cartoon (played on fox around the same time as x-men), where virtually every obscure marvel character had a cameo. Morbius...check, Blade (prior to the movies being released)...check. The Spot (?) ..uhm check. Also The Avengers, Silver Surfer and The Fantastic Four also had their own cartoons in recent years.
Lets also not forget that Avi Arad had spent the better part of the the last ten years getting every character ever conceived optioned by some studio or another.
Marvel does not ONLY care about the moolah, if they were they wouldn't be in comics (A generally unprofitable venture...re: marvel going bankrupt in the late 90's). Since Joe Quesada took over as EIC of marvel in 2001, comics have gone from a sensational, artist driven media, to a writer-driven media. Quesada's theory was simple: "Write good stories, and people will read them." Marvel more or less saved the day in an era where you had to wade through triple-gatefold metallic, hologram covers with crap stories to find anything worth reading.
In my admittedly biased opinion, a nex X-men animated series would be more than welcome. The Fox kids show was superior in it's writing, taking many of their storylines directly from the early 80's Chris Claremont stories. The animation was so cringe worthy however I couldn't stand to watch it. X-men evolution had the opposite problem, beautiful animation with fluff stories that didn't do the X-men mythos any justice. Maybe, just Maybe they'll get it right this time. I wouldn't mind something on par with Justice League Unlimited.
All that being said, I have to agree Wolverine is being stretched a bit thin. He's in evey single X-men title (at last count, that was something like 5 books), he's in New Avengers, and in his own solo book. Next he'll be joining the Justice League through some creative dimension jumping!
It's true they could stand to cut back. A little Logan goes a long way, but complaining that other marvel super heroes aren't getting exposure and saying Marvel's only in it for the money? Sorry, but all evidence is to the contrary.
Besides there are some characters I'd much prefer stayed buried in obscurity (Captain Ultra? Stilt Man? Squirrel Girl?). Just sayin'

Morbius...check, Blade (prior to the movies being released)...check. The Spot (?) ..uhm check. Oh I know this but then that is entirely faithful to the Spider-man comics In New Avengers, they could make a really funny running gag with Spider-man knowing everyone 'cause not only have a million and one people debuted in a Spider-man comic (Silver Sable, Cloak and Dagger, the New Warriors, Morbius, Black Cat off the top of my head) but he's also teamed with just about everyone in the Marvel U. Seriously. And Hulk. Perhaps I should qualify my argument: these cartoons have to NOT suck Fair enough. I liked both. Though X-Men wasn't as good as its peer, the Spider-man cartoon (which made an effort to set itself apart from the comics and was kind of an early attempt at an Ultimate Spider-man). X-Men Evo was great. I really liked it and was gutted when they canned it. LOL You have no idea how much Wolverine just annoys me. The thing is, I like the character but as you say, he's stretched thin like paper. Agreed. Add in Frogman and I'm right there with you DTH

Actually yeah, towards the end there, with the apocolypse storyline, evolution was gettin pretty good. Definitely could've stood to let it evolve (no pun intended) a little longer. I think the problem is that children's programming directors seem to think that that an average child has an attention span that only be measured in nanoseconds, (and I'm not convinced that they're wrong). It's rare to see a cartoon that lasts for more than a few seasons nowadays. That being said, Bruce Timm has to be some kind of freakin genius to have kept his DC animated storylines going for 13 years throughout 8 different cartoon series!!

What gets me is how quick it seems like Ironman animated series was abandoned. (marvel action hour) You can get Fantastic Four seasons on DVD but not Iro. I just can't help but hope that its a marketing strat for the new Iro movie but still.
That side, Generation-X needs to be released on DVD too. So while yall say that they're milkin the cash cow, (and you wouldn't be wrong) they're still droppin the ball in a lot of other areas which's very sad.
I wish they'd remember that they're vying for our dollar and trying to entertain us. In about the last 10 years it seems like every company out there wants our money by entertaining themselves and producing things they'd want to see.
Btw I thought X-Men's animation was just fine until that 4th or 5th season, whatever it was just before it puked. And I always brushed off Evo's storyline cuz they were the baby X-Men ya know. I guess that's just me, I agree with yall though.
