Since there's been some nostalgic threads I wanted to throw this one out there and see if anybody bites:
Fairy Tale Theater....with Shelley Duvall?
I remember vividly the episode with Christopher Walken as Puss-in-Boots. Anybody else?

Oh yes. I remember Puss In Boots very well. There is nothing creepier in the world than Walken singing his "Happy Cat" song.

That was my first exposure to Walken...loved him ever since. I think that role was the product of his rule that he never turns down a job. That might not be a completely accurate statement but it's pretty close.
Also, I might just be pulling this out of the air, but I think I do recall my da saying the young man in the film was Sean Connery's son. I'll go imdb it right now.

For some reason, I got Christopher PLUMMER in my head for Puss in Boots. And I thought "Oh, how sweet. He'd be wonderful for children!".
Then I went back and realized you said WALKEN.
Creepy.

I'm afraid I have to break it to you that Christopher Walken playing Puss-in-Boots isn't in an episode of Faerie Tale Theater, but in one of the films of the Cannon Movie Tales series.

Is it affiliated with Faery Tale theater in any way? Because I distinctly remember Shelley Duvall hosting it....
About Christopher Plummer...wasn't he a real jerk to all the kids on the set of The Sound of Music? Seems like I remember hearing that somewhere:)

Christopher Walken as Puss in Boots? I will not consider my life fully lived until I see this. Does he dance at any point?

I'm not sure I remember any "dancing" but I do think I recall some skipping that could be mistaken for a little jig.

About Christopher Plummer...wasn't he a real jerk to all the kids on the set of The Sound of Music? Seems like I remember hearing that somewhere:) I got my wife The Sound of Music for Christmas this year (biggest mistake of my life... now my house is constantly Alive With the Sound of Music). It's the big anniversary edition, and had interviews with all the cast. To hear the actors who played the children tell it, Plummer was initially not very friendly towards them, but as the production came to a close, they all got on very well. To hear Plummer tell it, he absolutely hated the idea of working with children going into it (the old standby of "kids and animals"), but came to quite like them towards the end. Reportedly, the scene where Plummer comes in midsong through the kids singing and then serenades them all was quite genuine, with the kids really being eager to hug him for real, as they felt he had finally come around to working with them. Of course, this could all be for the camera. Certainly sounds a lot better than "I hated working with the little bastards!".

I recall watching many of these when I was quite young and if memory serves I believe Ben Vereen (spelling?) played puss in boots. Another few memorable ones for me are: -3 little pigs: with Billy Crystal as one of the pigs and Jeff Goldblum as the wolf -The Frog Prince: With Robin Williams in the title role hmmm... can't remember many others, it has been a while

I imdb'd it and Walken did in fact play puss. Sorry to hear your life has turned into a musical Poolie. But it could be worse...what if she watched Cats every....single....night? That's your only other option. So let me ask you this: How much do you love the Sound of Music?

Yes, I can confirm it was Walken, and yes, I do recall the little "jig".

So let me ask you this: How much do you love the Sound of Music? Well, it's a fine movie to watch once a year. ONCE A YEAR.

I'm sorry that I now seem a little obsesive about this but I looked on IMDB and in the Faerie Tale Theater Puss in Boots this list shows Ben Vereen playing puss. I'm probably just thinking of a different series or something but here's the link anyways: imdb.com/title/tt0575502/
