I say definitely Scrubs all the way, but Grey's is okay too. I just don't find as addictive as everyone else seems to. Scrubs is funnier, and when it's dramatic, it gets really heavy but can offset the seriousness with silliness. Also the characters are a lot more likeable and have better development.
Thoughts?

I really can't add any thoughts, I share yours pretty much completely. Scrubs is one of the few TV shows that can make me laugh out loud pretty much every episode.

Grey's is missing the glory that is Janitor.

Grey's is a bunch of neurotic nit-wit doctors who occasionally save a life. Scrubs is a bunch of neurotic half wit doctors with a hilarious janitor, a living train-wreck of a lawyer and my personal favorite, Doctor Cox, "The man of 1000 rants"
"Newbieeeee...... Stayyyyyyyy... good girl.

Doctor Cox is what really tips the scale for me.

I've gotta echo Big T - I've yet to see an episode of Scrubs where I didn't laugh at something.
And, the Janitor and Dr Cox both crack me up, from such different angles... like a 1-2 comedy punch. Pure gold, I tell ya...

Unsurprisingly, I'm going to say Scrubs. Very surprisingly -- at least if you'd asked me a year ago -- I'm going to say it's much closer than I ever thought it would be. Hell, I never thought I'd even watch Grey's until my friend made my wife record an episode for him and she fell in love with it.
Both shows have extremely clever writers with good, continuing storylines. Both have immensely talented actors with good chemistry. (Scrubs goes without saying -- John C. McGinley in particular rules -- but I also really admire T.R. Knight's acting chops on Grey's, to be having these emotional, one-on-one scenes with Isiah Washington, whose guts he must hate.) Both keep me coming back for more every week.
I think what tips it for me in Scrubs' favor is the old (but true) cliche that good comedy is much, much harder to do than good drama. Drama, you build up a long illness, throw on some sad music, squirt some menthol in the actor's eyes, you're there. Comedy is harder, and I admire the Scrubs writers and producers for taking that on.
And being honest, I think the other half is just slight bitterness on my part. Scrubs is an outstanding show that gets disrespected by NBC and has never become a breakout hit; Grey's is an outstanding show that's recognized as such and is the most watched show in the country, or pretty close. Both are great, but Scrubs came first (and uses most of the same songs first... screw you, Grey's, making How To Save A Life famous when Scrubs got there first!) and has a harder time of things, just because they work harder to give you laughs instead of just drama. For that, if nothing else, Scrubs gets a little more respect from me.
Still, as I said... much closer then I ever thought it'd be. Good show, that Grey's.
J.D.: "I do love that show. It's like somebody took our lives and put them on TV!"

I TOTALLY agree that Scrubs does not get nearly enough credit. It was stuck on Tuesday night forever before NBC finally thought "Hey, our big comedy night is Thursday, maybe we should cancel Joey and put Scrubs in its place...." And John C. McGinley....Will somebody give that guy an Emmy/Golden Globe already?

i have to go with scrubs, as well. i think scrubs get really underrated in terms of tackling real world situations and problems, mostly because it does so (on the whole) with crazy humor, introspective voice-overs, and a general dedication to the characters being a family that will always love and forgive one another. it's like a comedy and a drama and a really great mix cd, all rolled into one! hooray!
grey's anatomy has a wonderful cast which, real world controversies aside, almost always clicks wonderfully and distracts you from weaknesses in the story or character development. a lot of stuff they do on there (and i haven't seen ALL the episodes, but i've been hanging out with various girls/women when grey's is being watched and caught my fair share of the seattle-based action) is suprisingly rote and dumb, but the talented cast manages to pull it off. and when the episodes are innovative and fresh, it's one of the best shows on television. wow!
but, yeah: scrubs is so money, it's scary. how it doesn't get more awards and critical accolades is beyond me. i could live with zach braff as fletch. make it happen, people!

I only started watching Scrubs a few weeks ago. And I became hooked from the first episode. It is nothing short of amazing. Where have I been all this time? I can't believe I never liked this show before.

I’m with Scrubs but I don’t think that this is a fair question. Other then the fact that both shows are about the day-to-day lives of people that are in the medical industry they are both very different shows. One is a drama and the other is a comedy. Sure there are moments in both series that overlap (the episode featuring the final appearance of Brendan Fraser was very dramatic) but they both aim at a different audience. You wouldn’t really ask which is a better detective show: Monk or CSI, would you now?

I voted for Scrubs, mainly because the show is killer funny, and all I know about Grey's Anatomy is that its stars all hate each other.
I nearly burst something watching a Scrubs Christmas episode the other night. There's the flash to Turk leading a gospel church choir, which cuts to JD twitching and clapping back in the hospital cafeteria. Plus, when JD later refers to communion wafers as "church crackers" I laughed so hard I may have woken the neighbours' kids up.

Scrubs took another friendly jab at Grey's in last week's clip show with this segment:
J.D.: There have certainly been a lot of odd moments around here. And for some reason, whenever I think about them, The Fray is always playing...
["How To Save A Life" begins, then is abruptly cut off]
J.D.: No, not THAT Fray song... THIS Fray song! [Some other Fray song plays]
Heh. Maybe you had to watch it, but it was pretty darn funny.

If you're not sure which show you prefer, there's an easy way to tell: think of a woman's, uh, lady business. Good. Now, what word immediately sprang to mind?
-If you thought "Bajingo!", you're a fan of Scrubs. -If you thought "Va-jay-jay!", you prefer Grey's Anatomy.
Easy.
