Anybody been watching this? I'm sufficiently enough of a Terminator fanboy to seek this out on the Fox website and watch the first two episodes. I have mixed thoughts, but on the whole, positive:
+ The action, thus far, has been nearly movie-quality + I like the idea of having different-looking Terminator models, not just the Arnold version + The scifi aspect, particularly the time travel, feeds my geek soul + River from Firefly! + Expanding the Terminator mythos is a cool idea, particularly with resistance fighters sent back along with multiple robotic assassins.
- A tiny little girl Terminator? It's going to be a very tough sell. - The voice-overs, and the focus on Sarah, are kind of annoying. - Hard to see where they're going with the series, if it's going to be constantly shifting, or if they're setting down roots and will be using the same locales over and over again. - The series is an "alternate universe" timeline that doesn't include T3, which is a further problem if/when they make T4. - There needs to be more chemistry between the main cast.

I haven't gotten to check it out yet, but I've heard good things. Their marketing couldn't be better, though. Do they know their demographic or what?

I like it so far. I can accept the 'little girl' terminator on the basis all Technology gets smaller as it advances. I like her struggling to fit in when she's CLEARLY not programmed for infiltration into high school. Plus, there's still the bad ass T-800s (if anyone calls them T-101s I will stab you with bullets) having a romp. The main 800's voice (and ski mask) are pretty intimidating. Plus who can't love the Spartan Queen as the commanding witch character?
SPOILER
Was anyone else really disturbed when that High School girl committed suicide after everyone found out she slept with a teacher? Talk about social commentary. Apparently I'm totally desensitized to scientists biting the bullet, but not high school girls.

Having still not seen a single episode, I feel I must nonetheless mention that the "hot high school chick Terminator who has trouble fitting in" angle makes the anime fan inside me (whom I have named Ingmar) utter some sort of odd boo/cheer hybrid noise.
Why? Because the fish-out-of-water setup of the cute girl who is secretly a battledroid can be found in, by my estimation, approximately every third anime. Possibly every other.
So I'm happy and snottily disdainful at the same time.

You know, Huckle... I never understood how Voltron was originally just a robot. He's clearly composed of five different parts. If they didn't WANT him to split into five fully-functional robots, why did they give him Lion heads for hands? That's just awkward.
Oh, my bad, wrong esoteric rant.
PS: I know what you're talking about. Even Robotech did it, albeit with alien spies instead of robots. They did PILOT Robots though... And everyone learns a valuable lesson in the end.
PS Two... no not the gaming system... the Second PS: I always imagined my secret anime loving self named GAMBLOR.

I'm going to go ahead and predict that they go for full ripoff value, and that in some later episode--ideally the last--Cameron will confess a long-repressed romantic attachment to John, which will be followed almost directly by her destruction.

"JOHN! JOHN! YOU TAUGHT ME BASEBALL, JOHN! AND HOW TO LOVE!!"
Somehow I don't think fox is THAT stupid... yet.
PS, something I always notice about this picture. That's a piece of 1" NPT black pipe with a 45 degree chamfer as the barrel of the gun....
AWESOME.

Today's (2/18) episode was just hard to follow. They jumped in and out of the future without warning. It didn't help that there was no different musical cue or scene transition or wipe that made it any different than the regular scene transitions. Also doesn't help everyone in the future needs a shave and looks the same.
At least they finally explained why they don't send many Terminators back. John Connor blows up the facilities or steals them.
On the other hand. My explanation of 'technology always gets smaller' doesn't work for Cameron anymore because she's clearly invented before Kyle Reese even goes back. This doesn't make much sense. You could argue she's an early model, but that doesn't work because Reese says The 800 is the first with organic skin.
Also, Arnold's skin always starts to rot but Cameron is runway hot even after several battles.

One thing I really like is that the kid playing Conner looks like he could be Michael Biehn's son, he has the same look and mannerisms. They have also showed him as a leader sorting out arguments in the mechanic he works in. I don't remember the two previous Conners demonstrating their future leadership skills in the movies. It may have happened, I just don't remember it.
That episode "heavy metal", where he had to pull the key off the Terminator's neck, was very tense.
