Well, I figured that now we have a thread like this in almost every forum on this, uh, forum and since we didn't have one here, "Why not?"
Right now I'm between Kingdom Hearts (sooooo near the end!) and DDRMax.

I'm still picking up Soul Calibur II for a few minutes' quick beat 'em up enjoyment. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance still rocks the body, but hard.
And I'm rapidly running out of excuses to not go pick up Viewtiful Joe this afternoon on the way home. I even brought trade-in games in the car.

Me? Any questions? ^_^ Seriously, nothing much. Just finishing some translations, and doing schoolwork.

So I _just_ finished playing Kingdom Hearts an hour ago (racking in a good thirty-eight FREAKING HOURS!!! What is WRONG with me!?) and I was all happy and waiting for the final scene, 'cause I heard the secret endings are at the end of the credits, and whaaaat happens?
Near the end of the credits it got all skippy, and next thing I know it just suddenly stops. I wait five minutes, hoping it'll restart (I didn't just sit there the whole time, I walked up and banged the top of the thing and the sides!) but, nope, nada. I'm SO pissed off.
See, the chica I borrowed the game from lent it to someone else before me who doesn't know how to take care of CDs, erego the disk was very messed up and was really scratched on what I assume is the end of the disk, so basically I was screwed out of ANY ending.
I'm gonna have to borrow a better disk from someone else so I can see the ending (as it's still saved towards the end, yay!).
Until then, I'm taking a vacation from video games.
Maybe a week. Or weekend. *thinks* Well, maybe until eight tonight.

My copy of Wild Guns for the SNES finally came in the mail today. So, I've managed to wrap my entire body around the game cartridge, and am now making contended cooing noises.
On the PC, I'm currently playing Siege of Avalon. I don't know how I managed to completely miss this the first time it came out. As I understand it, this game was split up into six "chapters" on its initial release, with the first chapter being downloadable for free, and successive chapters costing a bit.
Now the whole thing is on one CD for 10 bucks at your friendly neighborhood Wal-Mart. If you're in the mood for a nice Diablo clone, (Or Darkstone clone, depending on who you ask.) pick this one up. It has a fairly compelling plot, lots of stat numbers to juggle, (Me happy.) 18 bazillion different pieces of armor, which actually show up on your character, (Me very happy.) and great steaming piles of dialogue. (Written, not spoken.) It also has a healthy dose of tongue-in-cheek humor. Actual line of dialogue, from a gardener: "Off the flowers, oaf! Or I will be forced to taunt you a second time!"
Add to all this the fact that SoA is a card-carrying Old Game.(tm) (The graphics manage to be sufficient, though unimpressive.) What this means is that pretty much anybody with a computer less than five years old should be able to run this game with no problems. I actually had to turn my graphics accelerator down a bit to get it to run right. That makes me feel oddly important.

But will that game run in Windows XP? I'd like to try it out. Since it's 10. But it'll probably be $25 at my local Wal-Mart. Damn thieves...

Considering I'm on an extremely tight budget, have a computer that dates back to the Jurrasic era and have not been overly impressed with the recent console releases, I am replaying my old Final Fantasy's.
I did pick up one PC game called Divine Divinity...heard it's good, I just don't have the horsepower to run it at playable speed. It's also a Diablo-type clone (but more RPG elements) and I found it at Best Buy for $20...hard to beat that price.

Now here this...
I know there are a couple of Cube owners out there. I urge you to go out and at least rent (but probably buy) Viewtiful Joe. Holy merciful crap, this game is fun.
The story's utterly hilarious videogame fodder; Joe and his girlfriend go to the movies, she gets kidnapped by a bad guy, and Joe gets sucked in to go after her as a superhero. The sense of humour throughout is awesome.
Basically, the whole world is aware that it's just a movie, and all Joe's powers are such. So his big abilities outside of his kung fu prowess are the ability to slow time down, speed time up, and zoom in dramatically while his enemies quake in fear. Once you figure out how to make the powers interrelate, they're AWESOME fun. Takes about a 2 hour learning curve to really get into it (and earn all the powers), but SO worth it.
For once, the hype is perfectly believable. This thing's been getting high 9's across the board from all the reviewers, and I totally agree. Takes a little time to get used to, but once you do...

But will that game run in Windows XP? Eh. Windows is Windows, I always say. And now, some more stuff about SoA I forgot to mention in my original post: If you don't like fetch-quests, stay far away from this game. Then again, if you don't like fetch-quests, you probably don't like the 3/4-view pointy-clicky RPG genre as a whole. The standard class set of Fighter, Mage, Thief, has been replaced with Fighter, Mage, Scout. The Scout is very thief-like, except for not stealing things. This class introduces a stealth element not present in other RPGs of this ilk, (I assume. I never actually played Diablo, but Darkstone was certainly a non-stealthy game.) in that the Scout can use his trusty bow to zoink enemies from a distance, without them ever knowing he's there. An enemy that would take five or six shots to dispatch in a straight fight can often be dropped with one when caught unawares. And that's all I've got to say, about that.

IMHO the Thief series are probably the only games to do stealth and do it well...

Just picked up a demo of Chrome and it looks kind of Deus Ex -ish. Maybe something to hold me off in case Invisible Wars release is pushed back...
Oh, and in theory Windows XP is backward compatible all the way back to QDOS, or for that matter CP/M, as are all MS operating systems.

Ahhh. That's the sound of a satisfied gamer.
I've been reading rave reviews for a sim/building game called Space Colony, and Best Buy just, just got them in today. And while I'm there picking that up, I notice two lonely little copies of a tiny game called Max Payne 2 sitting there, begging for my attention.
Eat your heart out, Rich. Max freaking Payne freaking 2!

I know there are a couple of Cube owners out there. Whom you have to communicate with by way of short wave radio. "Stand strong brothers! Resist the non-tiny system invasion!" Judging from the screenshots, Max's facial expression no longer makes it look like he's perpetually smelling stinky feet. That's a plus.

Yup, it's out, and it's goooood. Only played a few chapters so far, but they really have improved on the old bullet-time formula (now you also have the option to slow down everything while still running around in real-time), the physics model is astounding -- particularly the first time I shot a guy with a shotgun, he flew back until his legs hit a railing, and then he flipped over -- and it's still got that dark humor / creepy-scary vibe to it. Let's just hope on no "follow the blood trail" nightmare levels.
