My favorite game that has taken up a LOT of my time is still, The Punisher on X-box. My second most addictive game is Half life 2. I have beaten it so many times and yet I still get hooked on it.

At least there aren't any really promising MMOs on the near horizon. Even if Firefly is supposedly going to be made into one... that won't be for a LONG time. I've heard about a 2008 release for Firefly...

There's no way, unless it's a stripped-down, bare bones MMO. Minimum, MMORPGs take 3 years of development and testing to get off the ground, and it's not uncommon to see 4 or 5 years pass until they do. During that time, a great percent of them go belly-up due to investers pulling funds or other factors. And I didn't hear anything about production being started on Firefly, just the announcement about the game. Although I probably misspoke when I said there weren't any good MMOs on the horizon... Conan is shaping up to be a great game: pc.gamespy.com/pc/age-of-conan-hyborian-adventures/751238p1.htmlDrunken brawling? Decapitations? Oh, I'm definitely making a tree hugging hippie barbarian!

I got Neverwinter Nights 2, Railroads and Psychonauts for Christmas. I'm slowly playing through NWN2 (saving the other 2 for later when I'm starved for a good game), and enjoying the story. D&D mechanics always seem a little obtuse to me, and it's a huge change of pace from the more user friendly World of Warcraft, but these single player RPGs can offer so much more in terms of a story. I rolled a punk rocker (mohawk and mascara included) sorcerer.

I would like to personally derail this thread and say that the extent of video games that I play (and ENJOY) are those included in Wii Sports. Especially Wii Bowling. I kill at Wii Bowling. Which is good, since I'm horrible at real bowling. The current Wii Bowling score is me 4, boyfriend 1. I think it's humbling to lose at Wii Sports anything.
I just love the Wii.
Okay, please proceed to regular gaming talk. (I really shouldn't even be on this part of the boards. Hehe.)

No! Wait! Come back! The Wii needs more love! Sports in particular has quickly become the fallback solution to our saturday night indecisiveness ('Wanna go to a club?' 'I dunno, I guess.' 'Wanna see a movie?' 'Eh, maybe.' 'Wanna play Wii Tennis?' ::insert slowly dispersing friend-shaped dust cloud: . It's still getting a regular workout at all of my friends' apartments and we're all itching to try Tiger Woods '08 which looks sick as all get out. Also, on a mostly-unrelated note: Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime is one of the best games of the year. Just sayin'. Al

My boyfriend came home with an Xbox 360 last night. I never really had video games, and with the exception of an Atari Flashback I gave him for Christmas last year, I don't think he's played a console since the original NES.
We stayed up way too late playing the racing game that was packaged with it and learning how to play Call of Duty 2. I think I'll like it, I just need to get used to the controls.

I recently rediscovered Galactic Civilizations II on my hard drive, and have been so enamoured with it I decided to spring for the expansion pack, Dark Avatar.
Frustratingly, I haven't had a chance to play it yet. Gah...
However, I have this to say: Legend of Zelda, Twilight Princess is AMAZING. Anybody played it?

We have it, but Caramel is still working to beat Wind Waker before she touches the next one.

Wind Waker was a great game too, it's a shame so many people were turned off by the art style. The gameplay was solid.
Twilight Princess is, in my humble opinion, even better.

I'm playing Wind Waker as well. Proving how hip and up-to-date I am with video games, I bought WW in January.

Wind Waker was an awesome game, but Twilight Princess is better. It's the only Zelda game, for my money, that gives A Link to the Past a run for the title. The graphics, the story, everything about it just exudes cool. Plus, Zant is a badass, oh so much more than Ganon ever was.
