I'm playing "Sins of a Solar Empire", it's kind of a cross between Homeworld and Galactic Civ 2.
Hellgate London sucks though.

I lost steam on HL very quick, which was a darned shame. Had so much potential. Still eagerly looking forward to Mythos' release. On Penny Arcade's recommendation, I downloaded the free beta for Spectromancer and have been vastly enjoying it. It's a lightning-quick card game, sort of like Magic only streamlined and less customized (you get a random deck every time from your card pool, instead of constructing decks). It's limited right now with no multiplayer and only one of the six mages available to play, but I'm looking forward to the April release.

Speaking of Penny Arcade recommendations, based on this comic (language warning) and the accompanying news post, I went out and got Professor Layton and Curious Village. I am SMITTEN. I love this game. I can already tell it has practically no replay value, but it's incredible for what it is: a series of logic puzzles ranging from easy to very challenging strung together by an extremely charming European animation style and story. It's very, very fun. And it's got weekly online content via Nintendo's WiFi connection on the DS, so there's a new game each week. Not too shabby!

Still eagerly looking forward to Mythos' release. Mythos? I have an invitation to beta that. Does that make me cool?

Well I sent it to you, Sue, so yes.
Glad to hear it Pooly... I'm probably going to ask for a DS for my birthday, so I'm making a list of must-gets from now till then.

I'd say Elite Beat Agents and Zelda: Phantom Hourglass are both must-haves for the DS. The stylus is put to great use in both of those games, especially Zelda (entertainingly intuitive, I say!). I also recommend Phoenix Wright, if you're yearning for the good ol' days of adventure gaming. After hearing all the buzz about it, along with Poolman's post, I also picked up a copy of Professor Layton. It's games like this (and the three I mentioned before) that make me glad I have a DS. Loads of fun, and surprisingly challenging, considering how familiar some of the brainteasers feel; I don't know why, but that one where you have to get all the animals across the river without eating each other gets me every time. Thanks, Poolman! Good call!

No problem, I live to simultaneously educate and corrupt! I didn't love EBA for the gameplay, but the style was utterly hilarious. I admit to hoping for a rhythm game in a portable Guitar Hero sort of vein, so probably my expectations were just way off. Phantom Hourglass (at time of print) remains the one Legend of Zelda game that I've started but not finished. Zero Punctuation's take (oh boy, language warning) actually resonates very, very well with me. Zelda fans are used to a fair amount of retreading, but the amount you go through with PH is ridiculous. I use my DS for a lot of puzzle gaming (in keeping with my "try to only play for 15 minutes at a time philosophy my lifestyle keeps foisting upon me" attitude), so I've found a lot of fun with: Puzzle Quest, which combines Bejeweled-ish gameplay with a half decent RPG (ie. is addictive as crack laced with Twinkies) Sudoku Gridmaster, a non-frills but very thorough Sudoku game with something like 400+ puzzles. Picross DS, which I have literally waited YEARS to see return to a Nintendo portable after having fallen in love with the original black n' olive coloured Gameboy. Logic puzzles that reveal 2-bit pictures hidden in a grid. LOVE this game. Advance Wars: Days of Ruin, a kind of reboot of the AW franchise, with less cutesy and more gritty, but as solid a turn based strategy game as you could possibly expect to find these days. New Super Mario Bros, which is, believe it or not, the first 2D Super Mario title since the launch of the Super Nintendo! (all Mario games since are either 3D platforms, sports spinoffs, or party games, and all Nintendo 2D platformers since are Yoshi or Wario or something else). It's a great return to the good ol' days of the plumber. I'll think of more, no doubt, but that's enough to drain anyone's bank account.

Totally understandable. I'm hoping my latest trip through the Temple of the Ocean King will be my last (for a very long time, at least).

I'm just kinda done with Zelda. Like, forever. I've done enough dungeon runs, assembled many a Triforce, slashed chickens and tall grass alike in my hunger for funds. As acclaimed as the series continues to be, it just feels like the same game over and over and over. Done. Kaput.
Puzzle quest, most definitely. Liked the PC demo.

Dance Dance Revolution Supernova2. I needs me a new mat. The bottom arrow of this one's coming off on my foot while I play! I've lost four pounds playing this for the last two weeks. I'm fast enough that I manage to burn 1000 calories in 45 minutes.
