Wheee! I am playing this highly-addictive game as well. I'm playing a defender named "Verucassault" on Pinnacle.

Since Ragtime has just had it's closing performance, I probably can get City of Heroes soon. Paragon City: Watch out.
This is the 1000th post on the video game forums.

Nobody wants to come over to Triumph and play with me... *kicks my feet dejectedly into the dust*

I would, but it would take a $100 outlay just to get the game running for me. Stupid video cards.

Just curious what impressions other CoH people have from the first few weeks. I'm looking forward to the first content patch in a week or so, and I'm still having a lot of fun.
Funny moment: the other night I was at an entrance to a zone, waiting for my group to come back. Our healer was standing there with me, her back to the rest of the zone (entrances are generally safe spots to be). So she's doing whatever it is she's doing, tra la la la la, and I watch as this MASSIVE enemy just trots right up from far away... she's oblivious... and then the big baddie just backhands her right into the wall. BOOM. It was so random and unexpected I was laughing too hard to really fight back.
Someone on the CoH boards wrote "If comic books were like CoH"... this is kinda funny so I thought I'd share:
Superman : It's Doomsday! We need to do maximum damage! Kick him, Black Canary!
Wolverine : Iceman! Help me stop The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants! They're attacking the Mansion! Iceman : Sorry, I'm looking for Hellfire Club. I need 7 more.
Citizen : So you're an X-Man? What's your name? Angel : Angel. Citizien : You don't look like an Angel. Angel : They don't have wings yet.
Iron Man : Cap, throw your shield! Cap : Sorry, that would be a ranged attack. Shouldn't your armor have deflected that missile? Iron Man : Not with my Blaster HP! That armor's just for show!
Cyclops : Colossus! Help! Pull him off me! Colussus : My Taunts don't work! I only know good ones in Russian!
Flash : Batman! We've got to attack Darkseid's command ship or he'll destroy the city! Batman : Are you crazy? We don't have a healer! Darkseid cons purple to me! I'm not going in there!
Spiderman : Daredevil, Iron Fist! Thank God! Green Goblin's goons are going to blow up the Stock Exchange! I can't take them alone! We've got to team up! Daredevil : Not with this A-hole! He just KS'ed my HYDRA agent! I only needed one more, and they only spawn on rooftops and I don't have Leap yet! Iron Fist : I didn't see you! Sorry! Daredevil : Noob!
Nightwing : AAA! These guys are all purples! Somebody SK me! Green Arrow : I thought you were thorugh with being a sidekick? Nightwing : not when I'm facing 5 17's I'm not!

Actually, technically Superman cannot exist in CoH, as there is no Alien orgin, and his powers certainly aren't Natural!

They are natural for a Kryptonian (sp?). Since in Superman 3 we see that the Kryptonian criminals have the same powers when they came to Earth.

Well not exactly, they occur because of earth's yellow sun (Krypton has a red sun). Kryptonians are just like you and me when they are at home (albeit with odd fashion sense). So actually the powers are not naturally Kryptonian either, they only manifest when the Kryptonian is brought to an alien environment, thus the origin of those powers are by definition alien. It is like if we went to a planet with lower gravity. To the aliens there it would seem like we had super-jumping ability and super-strength, but it is really just because our bone and muscle structure are stronger than theirs because we had higher gravity to contend with. Thus our abilities would not be natural, they would just be caused by our alien origin.
On another note.... MAN I'm such geek! ;D

Someone on the CoH boards wrote "If comic books were like CoH"... Well, there's also the the whole death thing. I mean, in CoH, when a hero dies, they can come back as many times as they need to. In comics... Oh. Wait. Never mind.

Heh, true. Except they're very specific with the wording in the game -- call it semantics, but heroes don't die, they're "defeated" and evacuated to local hospitals. Villains aren't killed, they're "arrested", which apparently involves melting into nothingness before your eyes after they've laid on the ground for a few minutes.
An interesting fact is that no where in the official game manual (or the written portion of the game) is the word "Superhero" ever mentioned. According to something I read, that word is copywrited by some comic book writer or company. So we're not super. We're just heroes.

Lois asked why he still had his powers at night. He said that his body stored the energy from the sun. Kind of like a battery. He didn't say the battery part, I added that. That leads me to assume that these powers manifest because of the radiation from our yellow sun. If so, wouldn't that be some kind of mutation? Thereby making his origin Mutant. Or maybe Science? Cause raidiation seems some how scientific to me.

Here is a link to the origin definitions. You tell me if any of them match. I do not think so, but I could be wrong. It is still my opinion that an alien origin should be added. www.paragoncity.com/data/630~Origins.php
