so last thursday, i decided the heck with it and bought a gamecube on the spot. a big reason was i could still find the out-of-print metal gear solid: twin snakes 'cube remake for $20, and i wanted to play resident evil 4. mgs and rs are the two big games/franchises i felt i missed out on, going from an original nes to a game boy advance sp with nothing inbetween for years! i also bought james bond: everything or nothing, 'cause the gba version was fun.
gamecube - i like it! i like the controller out of all of them; i'd get used to whichever, i suppose, but from the first time i've played each console at friends' houses or store displays the gamecube felt best
metal gear solid - dude, i can't even beat the first part, where i just got out of the water and apparently have to sneak around stealthily and not get seen. what? it'll be fun once i put more effort into it, i suppose, though now i know for sure i'm a big wham-bam-explosions! guy, which leads me to
bond: everything or nothing - totally awesome! i don't even care who or what i'm shooting at: i'm bond and it has all the voices, and it's awesome. great buy, great play!
res evil 4 - beyond super-awesome! it really reminds of this cool computer game, blood, i bought way back when and played all the way to the end. tons of fun, very eary to pick up controller-wise, and i love blowing off heads whether it's day or night! totally, totally awesome. i'm so happy.

Mwahahaha.... another Nintendo convert!
Personally, I love the Cube controllers. They always seemed most comfortable to me, with the Xbox (S-type) controllers a close second. The PS2 controller, while functional, seems a big pain in the ass to me.
I was considering RE4... I hear it's quite the big bundle of awesome, but I'm a big sissy. Are you finding it frightening, or action packed? Tell, Kyle, tell!

I only played it for a few hours, but I found RE4 to be really intense but not necessarily all that scary. Resident Evil for me has always been about the camera angles. As big a pain as they could be from time to time, it provided great tension and atmosphere that isn't there with the more traditional 3rd-person view. But the game can certainly get your blood pumping without it.

my brother is all about resident evil 4. i think its the first big breakthrough since rez evil 1 on the ps personally.
anyways, this's coming from a biased die hard nintendo fan so take this with a grain of salt. but if you find a copy of xmen legends, paper mario: thousand year door, or goblin commander i do not think you'll be upset with your purchases. none of them are fps's obviously, but i think they are some of the best games the GC has to offer. and if you're into old school go for the sonic mega collection, and megaman aniversery collection. also if you can find pikmin 2 for cheap go for that.
theres a few other really good collections coming out soon, but i forget what they were, i think atari stuff. does anybody know. i could look it up but its already been a rough day and im tired of even walking right now
