Sorry to borrow Justin's idea, but it got me thinking. What's the WORST game you've ever played? (And it has to be an actual game for sale, not something your friend made last week.)
Mine is called "Revolution," and it was made in Romania. I didn't know this when I bought it on ebay. There are probably still copies for sale there. This sci fi first person shooter is so bad you can't even play the last three levels without a cheat code because of a problem with the original written code of the game. The interface is awkward, though I think the HUD was still better than Deus Ex 2. The dialogue in the cut scenes is poorly translated, and sometimes you can't even hear it at all - a character will just bob their head around and you'll see the subtitles. All it has going for it are the weapons (rail gun! rail gun!) and your character's midgame transformation from "traditional FPS white guy" to "blue scaly mutant."
In my opinion Deus Ex 2 is a close second. This was supposed to be awesome, and it let me down, and I'm still bitter. Until you get the patch you can barely load it at all, you have to have the right BRAND of graphics card, and don't expect very good loading times even after that. (Morrowind is a HUGE game and it loads powers of ten faster on my machine.) It's buggy. It's short. It's not nearly as interesting as the first one. It has an awful round HUD that is difficult to use. The mouse controls are oversensitive. Oh, and if you play male you get a full trench coat, but if you play female you get a LEATHER MINIDRESS. Bastards.
