Pah. I spit upon the consoles. Ptoo. Ptoo.
If it wasn't for the (*#$ Xbox, Oblivion would actually HAVE higher res textures than Morrowind...

Ho ho! Your mentioning Morrowind has left the perfect opening for me to talk about something off-topic!
I've found new life breathed into the aforementioned game now that I've completely covered it in chocolatey mod goodness. In fact, it may have gotten to the point where it's more mod than actual game.
Anyway, during the course of building my copy of Morrowind into the beautiful monster it's become, I was reminded of something you said in some bygone game-related thread. The basic gist of your post was that you appreciated how the female characters in the game were not your typical hyper-busty glamazons, but rather, slender and petite lasses, who no doubt got that way by spending 80% of their lives jogging around the immense expanses of nothing interesting.
Now, maybe it's because one of the roughly 5 million mods I'm running is Better Bodies (away with thee, icky segmented marionettes!), but I have a hard time agreeing entirely.
I'm playing a female character (using the Francis Ottoman Rationalization), and I gotta say, she may not be abnormally bodacious, but she's also far from waifish. Am I wrong?
It bears mentioning that this discussion is pertinent to nothing. It's just that, as a guy, I'd hate to think that I'm incorrectly gauging boob size. I worry about stuff like that. It's kind of a point of pride.

The term "waifish" is sort of wrong given what I said - that the Morrowind game bodies were more athletic than, say, the Lara Croft pinup-type mesh. And Better Bodies (which I used for a long time too, btw) tends to bump the body meshes back toward Big Bouncing Boobies territory. I used it anyway, because of its greater realism and all the clothes available for it. (Metal Queen Boutique! Carnithus' Armamentarium! Huzzah!)
I've been keeping an eye on the Psychodog forums in hopes that they'll release a BB Oblivion rather than just Eshme's package for female bodies. Some of the meshes they've come up with are more muscular (not ridiculously so) and I have high hopes that they'll release both the big- and small-breasted versions so I can play a character who looks like they spend time running around whacking things instead of having silicon magically added to their bodies.
I'm working on a default-game body shop mod for Oblivion, but if they really do come out with a working BB concept for Oblivion I guess I'll have to actually learn to weight paint. Bah.

I suppose "waifish" was a bit of an overstatement. I'd like to replace it with "creepy sausage link people," and apply it to both genders of the default Morrowind character models.
As for weapon and armor mods, I give props or some equivalent metaphorical endorsement to Bob's Armory. Not only does it feature the best longsword in the game (as far as I've found), but it lends creedence to my theory that every Morrowind apparel mod is at least one-third bondage gear.
