The Mikado

Surely some of you are Gilbert and Sullivan fans! Yours truly is in the chorus of The Mikado, to be performed at the Wortham Theater by the Houston Gilbert and Sullivan Society. The show runs July 16 through July 25.

AND THEN … We take the show across the pond to the International G&S Festival in Buxton, Derbyshire, England. Our performance is August 3.

As my trip to England gets closer (July 31 to Aug 7), I thought I'd ask if anyone's been to Buxton. What's it like?

Most nights there I have opera tickets to other festival shows. There will be little time for side trips and no time in London. I think one day we're going to Chester? Any ideas on what I might do?
