Since I'm working at the radio station right now, I thought I'd give y'all heads up on a really Gawdawful song that we started spinning this evening. It's a new version of Car Wash by Cristina Aguilera and Missy Elliott. And it's totally presented to you as disco'ed up as humanly or artificially possible. It's bad.
So, we'll probably be playing the living crap out of it.
I know there are similarly-themed threads out there, but is there anything out there you just can't stand? I suppose you can post it here.

Well, in terms of gawdawful covers... I puke every time I hear Jessica Simpson singing Take My Breath Away.

Yep. That Jessica Simpson cover should have never been made...
I haven't heard the Missy/Christina song (maybe it's better this way).

Totally agree on the Jessica Simpson song.
"Redneck Woman". If I hear it again, I think I'll go into convulsions. I don't listen to country radio, but my sister listens to it ALL THE TIME.

As far as covers... Madonna's cover of "American Pie." SWEET JESUS! She destroys the beautiful childhood memories I have of singing "them good ol' boys are drinking whiskey and rye" and giggling at the reference to alcohol! Now the song just makes me want to cry!

Ya know, Madonna shouldn't have been allowed to sing American Pie, especially after she took on a fake British accent...

I haven't been listening to the radio very much lately, but if that idiotic Stacy's Mom song is still on there, I swear I'll do something... yeah. I don't know why anybody would like it.

Stacy's mom has got it goin' on... hee hee.
My sister and I were singing this Saturday and then started to talk about the Maroon 5 video for "She Will Be Loved". Poor mother got confused and thought we were talking about the video for "Stacy's Mom".
Speaking of Maroon 5, I just may hunt down Adam Levine and lock him in a closet before he writes another song to corrupt the airwaves.

Heh. I saw Maroon 5 playing the back-up stage at an O.A.R. (and, I think, Train and Sheryl Crow) concert a couple of summers back, and I remember thinking at the time, "Hey, these guys are pretty good... hope they get some radio airplay someday." Of course, if I'd known then just how much airplay they were going to get, I'd have gone looking for a broken bottle right then and there. Oh well; at least I can say my sister owned the CD a year and a half before all the teenyboppers... -D

Pretty much anything that I hear on the radio is utter doggy poo. I can't take it anymore. I might just have to smash the radio at work.

We should form a club of radio-smashers. Immediately.
Note to self: Also smash people who headbang to stupid music, especially when they headbang unproperly. I witnessed that in the school parking lot today, for while I and my friends were headbanging to The Distillers, some idjit was in his truck (TRUCK, mind you) headbanging to Big & Rich. -shudders-

Oh, that's nothing.
Pickup truck that looked like it had just been in a high speed chase. Lynyrd Skynyrd blaring (they probably spent more money on the speakers than the truck). Two sunburned, shirtless guys with gold chains around their necks, cigarettes in their mouths, and thin, weedy mustaches.
*shivers*
That is why I don't spend much time in the student parking lot.

Clare already heard me rant about this elsewhere, but I really want to apologize to the world for Shania Twain. On general purpose, sure, but specifically for the HORRIBLE duet she taped with Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray. Sweet hay-zoose. No amount of hot woman in a silver jumpsuit can make me listen to that.

Wonderwall by Ryan Adams...imagine an extremly whiney, pathetic exhale with a pinch of Manchester oriented, non-sensical lyrics for 3+ minutes and odds are it's going to be Wonderwall by Ryan Adams.
I'm working full time now, so when I'm in the office I have to hear bands like Jet, Keane and other Coldplay/Travis Hybrid bands roughly 7 times a day each.
I miss getting the board eraser getting thrown at me in school all of a sudden.
