Oh, the stupidity of the thread title! It rends at the innards!!
That said, this is a forumified manifestation of the "Song(s) that fit(s) you" (I'm paraphrasing.) question from MRFHLine 5. Strong enough for a mutant, but Ph-balanced for a mini-mutant.
So, my answers would be "Long Time" and "Peace of Mind," both by Boston, and "Dancing in the Dark" by Springsteen.

The Back Seats, "Lou Reed's Drugs" (I don't love it, exactly, but it's a wonderfully apt description of trying too hard to be hip in high school.)
Elliott Smith, "Everybody Cares, Everybody Understands" (It parallels something I was going through at the time I heard it, so of course it holds a special place in my heart.)
Billy Joel, "You May Be Right" (It's lonely, angry, and horribly uncool.)
Van Morrison, "Beside You" (It's the most beautiful song I've ever heard.)

In The Garage by Weezer. I'm not sure why, and if I am, I don't think I'd be able to explain it.

"Acoustic #3" by the Goo Goo Dolls, because it's just so awesome. And bee-yoo-tee-full. (Ignore that.) It also is something I listen to when I'm immensely sad about something. "You Can't Always Get What You Want" by the Rolling Stones, since that's become my new life philosophy. "Ruby Tuesday" by the Rolling Stones, because I've told my friends that if I die before they do, they must make sure that song is played at my funeral. Morbid thought of the day.

Speaking of the Stones, perhaps Sympathy for the Devil would also suit me, even though I'm not the Devil and noone feels sympathy for me.

"Do You Remember Rock and Roll Radio" by The Ramones...mostly because 98% of the new music out there aggravates me.
"Sing Along" by The Blue Man Group + Dave Matthews. One of the best and lyrically simplest songs about standing out and being different.
"Thunder Kiss '65" by White Zombie. This song never seems to get old for me. Everytime I listen to it it feels like I'm hearing it for the first time.
"Dragula" by Rob Zombie. This is the song that got me interested in music of the rock variety. Before that, I would just listen to Weird Al and one or two other songs that were popular at the time (which i specifically remember were "Who Let the Dogs Out" and "Blue" by Eiffel 65...*shudder*)
