"Which characters would you like to see in future comic book franchise movies?"
There it is. Maybe this thread would be more appropo in Movies, but it just seems comic booky in spirit to me.
And now, my picks:
Spider-Man
Venom. Please please pretty please a million times.
Batman
Clayface. A character that very well could've redeemed Catwoman. I mean, if they were going to play the whole "deadly cosmetic" angle anyway. . .
X-Men
More characters from the "Force" and "Factor" sides of the fence. Namely, Multiple Man, (here comes Drew!) Strong Guy, Shatterstar, Feral & Wolfsbane for the whole cat/dog rivalry, and especially Random.
I seem to be leaning heavily toward villain/quasi-villain/loose cannon characters who are gooey and would necessitate a crapload of CGI.

Everybody I'd like to see handled on the big screen, like Apocolypse, comes more from an interest in exactly how they would handle the character rather than a burning desire to see them in 3-D. Venom is a good example also, although he in particular is not on my list (I love the character, but really have no desire at all to see him attempted in a movie): * First, you need the Secret Wars or a way around them (i.e. John Jameson on the cartoon show) * you need to give Peter a reason to want to change his get up * then you need to introduce Eddie Brock (I don't count previous name dropping as being introduced) *then the symbiote needs to develop an attachment to it's host * Eddie Brock needs to be given a reason to hate Peter so intensely that he'd bind himself to an alien life form for revenge * Peter needs to reject the symbiote * Eddie and the symbiote need to find each other.
That's a lot to do before you can even approach a bad guy like Venom. I really think that Spider-Man never needs to leave the 1960's canon of villains (but that's just me)

Spider-Man: Venom would be cool, but I'm honestly hoping they just do the set-up for him in Spidey 3, and leave him to be the main villain for 4. You know, 3 can have subplots involving Eddie Brock's disgrace, the creation of the symbiote, Peter getting ahold of it, running around for a while in the new costume, gradually learning that it's alive, and driving it away with church bells, like in the comic. The final scene of the film could have Eddie coming to pray for forgiveness in the church and being engulfed by the symbiote instead. Then you've got audiences primed and waiting on the edge of their seats for Spidey 4.
For the villain in 3, I'd really want to see the Hobgoblin. Do the costume right (more like the comic than the movie Green Goblin armor), then build him up to his proper threat level -- someone with all the power of the Green Goblin, but with sanity to boot. I don't care if it's Harry Osborn, Roderick Kingsley, Ned Leeds, Flash Thompson, or even Jason Macendale; there's a reason Hobby was THE badass Spidey villain of the 80s.
EDIT: Oooh, better yet, here's how we tie them together: like in the comic, Hobgoblin is using one of his brainwashed stand-ins to carry out a specific job. Eddie Brock discovers the identity of this person and writes a story for the Bugle, exposing Lefty Donovan as the Hobgoblin. But when it turns out to actually be Harry or Kingsley or whoever they go with, Eddie is disgraced and fired. BAM!- cue Venom for #4.
Batman: Whether Batman Begins works or not, I really think they've got the right idea in heading back to the Year One era of Batman history. For the next film, make the natural progression and adapt The Long Halloween for the big screen. It's a 13-issue miniseries with Bats chasing Holiday, a killer who's whacking mobsters once a month on major holidays, but the real meat of the story is the build-up of Batman's relationships with Captain Gordon and Harvey Dent, and exploring how control of Gotham shifts from the gangsters to the freaks (Joker, Scarecrow, Mad Hatter, Poison Ivy, Penguin, etc.) They're going in the right direction by introducing Carmine Falcone in Batman Begins; now follow up on it.
X-Men: As Hucklebubba rightly guessed, I would love love LOVE to see Madrox the Multiple Man appear. And even better than that, as the world's largest New Mutants fanboy, I'd kill for a cameo by the junior team of X-Men. With that said, I'm not a big fan of X-Force, and X-Factor would just confuse things. Let's focus on the characters we've got (and maybe, um, give Cyclops something to do? Like, say, lead?), as well as the inevitable new ones, and get to adapting the Dark Phoenix Saga. Like with Spidey, I figure we use 3 for setting up subplots -- return Jean to life with cosmic powers, show how godlike she is, cameo the Hellfire Club -- then have 4 feature Jean's corruption, redemption, and... well, that would be telling.
And for Fantastic Four 2: the Impossible Man!

None of my choices would be terribly viable, but in a perfect world, I would choose the following.
Spider-Man: Mysterio. He would fit in well with the "Classic Villain" bent that Sam Raimi is using for the movies, and his illusions would be an excellent use of the special effects budget that wouldn't look cheesy. Of course, they'd need to keep the fishbowl.
X-Men: I could care less what villain they bring in for X3, but if they bring in anyone from Alpha Flight - particularly Puck - I would be a happy guy. Seriously: the X-Men have to track a villain to Canada, and have to team up with a couple of the resident heroes? The Doc would be pleased.
Superman: I know it's not out yet, but you know they'll try to make a franchise out of it. And for Superman II? Give me Bizarro. Not the alternate universe Bizarro, the clone-gone-horribly-wrong Bizarro. Action, pathos, excitement, and moral quandaries. That's a superhero movie.
