In one of the refrains. Without getting into details, he's repeating "It was the summer of '69," and then one of them instead is "Me and my baby"... yadda yadda yadda. It's pretty clear, he doesn't mumble. And while I'm sure he'd tell the FCC he's talking about the year, he's mentioned in other places that... uh, he's not.

Jealousy: I'd like to nominate the song "Jealousy" by... I think it was the Killers.
And... Are we talking just rock songs? Because I could also nominate Beethoven's 9th for the definition of "joy" and Bach's Toccatta in D for "grim majesty."

Jealousy: I'd like to nominate the song "Jealousy" by... I think it was the Killers. Actually, the official title of the Killers' song is Mr Brightside ... cool song And, a really good album - I've played it into the ground. (But now, because of this post, I've got the Black Crowe's song Jealousy stuck in my head... thanks!)

Yeah, that's the one. I don't have the actual cd and I never put the correct song title into my computer.

This doesn't really count as a word, per se, but I'm including it anyway! Just try to stop me!
Science Fiction - Robot Rock by Daft Punk. I just wanted to include this song somehow, and Science Fiction seems to fit it fine. So there.

And, a really good album - I've played it into the ground. Eh...for me, only the first half of the album was good. I won't elaborate, cause this isn't really the place for it, but I just wanted to comment.

Lazy: "Groovin'" The Young Rascals. The bassline, the harmonica--come on, that's a real lazy song.
Downcast: "This Charming Man" The Smiths. Something about it is very down, despite the peppy rhythm section. Maybe it's the trebly guitar, maybe it's the vocals, but something is clearly bugging the narrator of the song.
Anxious: "Born Under Punches" Talking Heads. It lays into a very weary groove very quickly, and it's a very nervous song, even when the harmonies enter at the end.

Hm... Wow... I've got to think of things now. That's just lovely.
Heart-rending... okay, while it may not be for others, Dave Matthews Band's "Crash Into Me" provides some heart-rending emotions. There's something about the music itself and the possibility for memories to get so easily attached to it...

Comeback - Bigger Than My Body by John Mayer. Whenever I hear this song, I see a comeback montage of a struggling student studying for his exams in my mind's eye.
Lullaby - Fluff by Black Sabbath. An uncharacteristically soft acoustic instrumental. It could also work for Tranquility, which I mentioned in another post.

Optimism - I Just Wanna Celebrate by Rare Earth. Used brilliantly in the series finale of Six Feet Under.
Party - Daft Punk is Playing at My House by LCD Soundsystem. This is what my ideal party sounds like. Fun, but more laid-back.
