Just thought I'd throw this out for some advice if we have any guitar players floating around the forum. I have a modest amount of cash set aside with which I'm considering upgrading to a slightly better acoustic guitar. I'm primarily looking for a nice sound and a fairly low action (for my weak and stubby fingers). The only real failing of the guitar I have right now is that the action is impossible, and I've been told by a repair guy that it can't be fixed. No barre chords for me!
I've been sort of glancing at the lower end of the Alvarez brand, because I know I like the sound of those... but does anyone have any recs?
Yes, I know I should go to a store and start plucking away, but the last time I tried, I was so totally ignored by the staff that I slunk away in shame. *sigh*

I don't know much about the technical aspects (ac...tion...?), but if you're looking for an acoustic, I suggest you look into getting a Takamine. I played a 12-string Takamine during one of my many guitar store browses, and it sounded phenomenal, right off the shelf. I can't tell you what model it was or how much it cost (sorry), but I'm gonna assume one Takamine's as good as another. Actually, this may be the model I tried out... lamusic.ca/default.asp?szNav=Product&PID=14010#

A very good friend of mine also plays nothing but Takamine. He loves 'em.
