A band I have majorly grown out of would have to be Blink 182. I still listen to them (i'm listning to them right now to be honest) but I just don't like them as much as I did and i find alot of there songs that i used to love to be really crappy now.
What bands have you grown out of.

I don't listen to O.A.R. nearly as much as I used to. I still love a lot of their stuff, but too often they get in that jam band mentality, which I hate... the song should take 3-5 minutes, not 14. Lady Luck absolutely refuses to go to any more of their concerts with me, because almost all their fans are drunk, stoned college kids who end up shoving or spilling beer on you.

For me, it was Dave Matthews Band. See Drew's reasons for O.A.R. - these are the same exact reasons I no longer follow DMB.

I echo DMB and O.A.R. for the same reasons... and I'll add Counting Crows. There came a point towards the end of college when I just got over it, I guess.

I didn't exactly grow out of Counting Crows. Instead, the wife and I went to a concert last year of CC and the Goo Goo Dolls. The Dolls were good -- I wasn't expecting much, but they did a really nice job -- but then the Crows came on stage and Adam Duritz said, "Hey, uh, this has been a really bad day for us... we just found out that a very good friend of ours died yesterday. So in honor of him, what we'd like to do tonight is just have a night of very, very beautiful music, okay?" And the wife and I, who were there to hear their fast-paced, frenetic songs like "Einstein on a Beach" and "Rain King," looked at each other and said, "Well, [bleep]." We hoped they'd pull out of it, but it was exactly what we didn't want: all of their slower, melancholy songs, drawn out to twice their already sizeable lengths by a singer who couldn't have been more stoned if he'd tried. I think he actually forgot some lyrics at one point. We left before the set was even over, that's how disappointing it was. I also listen to REM less now, but that's because I switched jobs and have to actually talk with people, instead of just editing reports with my headphones on all day. -D

Cake. They're basically a gimmick band anyway. It's a good gimmick though, kept me coming back for about three albums. Eventually I burned out and now I just flip past their songs on my Ipod. I echo DMB and O.A.R. for the same reasons... and I'll add Counting Crows. There came a point towards the end of college when I just got over it, I guess. Counting Crows too. After a while I realized that they're a lousy band that happens to bang out a really good song now and then. They're pretty much the definition of the 90% filler 10% killer.

Nirvana.
One: Due to a rather nasty new orifice in the cranium Kurt Cobain isn't writing any new stuff and the old stuff got old rather quickly after being played ad nauseum on the radio.
Two: It annoys me how they elevated Cobain to the status of demigod for being a gutless quitter who couldn't handle being rich and famous and adored by millions.
Three: The VH1 revisionist history in which Nirvana "changed music forever", as opposed to being the most marketable out of a slew of bands representing a flash in the pan style of music (grunge) which essentially was just punk with flannel shirts.

I only like SO many Nirvana songs. I thought they were pretty overrated actually. What band have I grown out of?........ Honestly...... I am STILL rocking most of the albums and bands that I used to rock back in High school. It's a SAD state in music when I was honestly EXCITED to find the album "Fear of a Punk Planet" by The Vandals in the store.
