SO. I've kinda gotten the impression that you guys post your reviews, and at that point, its DONE. Hasta la vista, no changes are to be made. I could see where people would keep sending in little spelling or grammar errors, it would be a bit of a pain and not really worthwhile to edit them, and so you wouldn't. I'm not even going to try and estimate how many of your reviews I've read, but I actually dug deep into the archives when I first found the site, so the quantity is decent. And in all my reviewing, I have stumbled across many minor spelling errors... so, I guess the question is... should I bother telling anyone? And if so, who? Ugh. This post lacks structure and quality in a big way. I'm just going to keep plowing ahead. Specifically, I noticed that in the "Intermission" for Young Frankenstein, it mentions an adlibbing done by Gene Hackman. I assume this is supposed to be Wilder. Kind of a major boo-boo, methinks. So, what's the consensus on off-the-cuff spell-checking? And, I agree with that summation of Young Frankenstein. My dad still cherishes it, and I just never understood what got people so excited.

It would be, if it were Wilder that made the quote. The quote was uttered by the character known as the Blind Man. The Blind Man was played by one Gene Hackman. That means you assume wrong. I hope you've learned something today. We'll cover how you can pay your fine for falsely accusing a Mutant later.

Perfection is something we will one day achieve at MRFH, but until then, we revel in our basic humanity. That means that yes, we make all sorts of mistakes, but we also fix them when we spot them. There's a lot of minor changes that go on in the background that no one notices, and that's okay -- we have an 8 year site with hundreds and hundreds of pages, and that's to be expected.
What has worked best for me is for a reader just to send me an e-mail with corrections and I usually do a huge batch of those about once a month. So if it bugs you that much, then you can appoint yourself a Bug Checker; else, just sit back and don't let the small stuff bother you so much.

If it makes you feel better, Greg, I happened to be reading an old review of mine yesterday, and I found a HUGE mistake of my own creation. Enormous. What's more embarassing about it is that part of it is an easily researched point about the move, and the other part of it is a personal detail, which I should have explored more carefully. Hm. This is sounding dirtier than I intended. Keep picking those nits, buddy!

I've had people email me with factual corrections before and I always research what they posit is incorrect. If they're right, I send Justin an email asking him to change it. If they're not, I tell them where I got my information and try not to mock them too heartily.

Oh, see, I believe in the mocking.

I guess it depends on how they present the information to me. If they're smug little bitches about it I tend to be merciless, especially if they're totally wrong. If they're good-natured and just trying to help me out, I'm a whole lot more receptive.

Crap. I sat there thinking, before I pushed post, "Is it possible that Gene Hackman had a role in this film?" and almost talked myself into the idea that maybe he had. In fact, I think I toned down my "Haha, look what I know!" tone a little bit, just in case. Well, I'm an idiot. Eh. The spelling errors don't BUG me, persay, it happens to everyone. I mean, I would've come in and yelled about it years ago if I just liked showing how observant I am. I kind of doubt I'll bother to mention them... its always such an ordeal, because for some reason outlook won't let me send email, so I have to click a name, copy the address, open up Hotmail... bleah.
