Point: Venom was already 'sort of' set up in the first movie, at least he is now in the same universe. Triple J made a one-line reference to Eddie Brock. Good review Drew, you were definately worthy of winning a place as a mutant, but beware, for my eyes are keen. I will notice all, trust me, muahahahahaaaaaa!!!!! ;D

I will notice all, trust me, muahahahahaaaaaa!!!!! ;D pssst, did you notice you spelled "definitely" wrong? Anyway, another great review, Drew! I've seen the movie twice and loved it. I agree with you that passing Spidey's inert body over the heads of the train passengers was over the top, (no pun intended!) but I can forgive a lot when the rest of it was so cool. Aunt May rules!

Hehe, no way, you must have missed our entire thread on phonetic spelling. Bit by bit I will change the English language to meet my sense of logic. Oh yes it will be grand! ;D
While my suggestion to change the entire language to phonetic spelling will be met with utter hostility, I figure that if I change a few letters here and there, in 20 years or so my plan will work! This is why I spell existence existance, the way it SHOULD be spelled, darn it!

You're getting a lot of help from the public schools in that--everyone I know in the education field tells me no one can spell worth a damn anymore. "Whole language" my ass.

And you know why that is, don't you? Microsoft Word.
Think about it. Autocorrecting spelling not only takes away the need for you to edit your own work, it prevents you from fully grasping the mistake you made in the first place, because the default settings never let you see it. Couple that with the fact that more and younger kids are using computers for school than was the case when some of us old fogies went to kindergarten, and you have general educational erosion.
Damn you, Gates!
(with apologies to Dan Peretti, if he's reading)

Somewhat back on topic: I desperately want Venom to be in Spidey 3. I'm eager to see if the whole distended jaw/tongue thing can be done without looking stupid.

Hahaha--oh, you're serious.
Read a few papers that have only been corrected by MS Word autocorrect and tell me that it takes away the need to edit.

Heh. Point. But you need the skills I'm talking about more and more people lacking in order to figure out that Word has botched its edit in the first place. So, chicken, or egg?
Oh, and I'm all about the Venom.

Point: Venom was already 'sort of' set up in the first movie, at least he is now in the same universe. Triple J made a one-line reference to Eddie Brock. Since we're getting technical and all, in reference to getting a picture of Spidey, Robbie Robertson mentioned that "Eddie's been on it for weeks." Up to geeky viewers as to whether they interpret that as Brock or not (since, in the comic, Eddie Brock was a writer who worked for a different newspaper... don't EVER try to punk me on Spider-Man knowledge, son. ), just like the reference to Dr. Connors from the first one. (Course, I'm still lamenting that Ben Urich will never be in a Spider-Man movie since they already put him in the Daredevil universe... d'oh!) And I hear ya, Poolie- all about the Venom indeed. Only two problems: one, that damn alien costume has to be given a new origin that won't confuse regular moviegoers (Secret Wars what?), and two, they have to deal with Harry too. I'm still thinking they'll go with Harry as the Hobgoblin rather than a new Green Goblin, but we'll see. Wonder if they'll try to go the Batman route and squeeze two villains in. (So I've been kicking around the idea of doing an article examining the differences between Spider-Man movie stuff and the corresponding elements from the comics... hmmmm. Certainly wouldn't be any lack of material, would there be?) -D
