I wanted to drop a nod to Lissa for her Shall We Dance review. That's very nice, you! I haven't seen the new version, but I imagine my feelings would be along the same lines as yours.
I HAVE seen the original, and I'll tell you, it's a must-see. Even from a straight guy who's not exactly into ballroom dancing, it's a beautiful movie, and the man who played the lead role (Richard Gere's role) was so charming it amazed. See both, for sure.

Thanks Pooly- watch your toes!.
I so need to see the older version. That's TWO straight guys that have told me it's good. Definitely need to check this out!

A straight girl here to tell you that I've seen the original too-- it's wonderful, unmissable, might even put the new one to shame (I may never see it. A Hollywood remake of a film I adore, with Jennifer Lopez? I didn't react as badly as my mum did, though). While we're on the subject of dancing movies...*cough* STRICTLY BALLROOM *cough cough*

I already told Liss I thought her review was terrific, but I'll make it official here. As for Strictly Ballroom, I have the DVD sitting right here on my desk. Sue
