so i flipped on old school on hbo or cinemax or whatever it is, and noticed that there is a lot more you can see on the screen when it's run in full-screen. a lot more! obviously, old school widescreen is one of those releases where to achieve the widescreen look, they put black bars over some of the image, versus showing the entire film image and having the black bars be a result of empty space. i don't think i'm explaining myself enough. hopefully i am. anyway, i'm all up-in-arms and thinking i'll have to go sell my old school widescreen dvd and buy the full screen unrated version to be happy. dangit! has anyone else encountered this elaborate occasional hoax perpetrated on we the people, or have you come to accept it and live life regardless? argh! i must make a stand! i must!

That's wierd...at first there was a backlash against letterbox, and now they're deliberately putting the bars on things filmed to be full-screen?
Why does this scream "focus group gone horribly wrong" to me?
