Beyond that, doesn't the stress and time spent waiting at home for the UPS guy kinda offset the 4 bucks you'll save ordering from Amazon, rather than picking up one of the 23 trillion copies every local Barnes & Noble will have? -D

Who plans a BBQ over three months in advance? They're scientists. That's the only way they know how! *ducks fast before Lissa notices this*

I wasn't crazy about the format. You need something to break up those paragraphs more, make it clear that each is a separate blurb, because right now it all kind of runs together and looks really intimidating.
Also, "Riding the Bullet" isn't going straight to DVD, it premiered on TV a month or so ago.

Who plans a BBQ over three months in advance?I'm willing to bet that that's gonna be some damn good barbeque.

Would you believe that the bbq is supposed to be a Memorial Day barbeque, but that was the first weekend everyone was available? Scientists... we live such busy lives, are just a bunch of social butterflies ;D

But, I don't know if Lissa will be like a kid at XMas and be up at sunrise...

Y'know, dear, I DO read this forum.... Oh, who am I kidding? When Order of the Phoenix came, I spotted the mailman from the window and was down the stairs before she'd taken the last few steps and rung the doorbell. It IS less stress to wait for it to come, actually. For one, I'm not into the "pick it up at midnight" bit. If I had kids, or I could get the youth group to make an event out of it, or another friend as into the books as I am that lived near here and would go with me, I'd be more inclined to do the bookstore thing. But it's no fun to do it alone, so I'll just have it delivered. Second of all, I'm not that great at staying up late. Which is worse? Being in my nice comfy bed and knowing it's on its way and getting a good night's sleep, or having the book in my hot little hands and being too tired to read it because I know I HAVE to sleep? For me, I'll take the second. Plus, with my luck I'd get there and they'd be out of copies. This way I'm guaranteed my copy. And yeah, we aren't the ones planning the barbeque. But it WILL be good bbq- they're really good cooks!

I can't speak for anywhere else, but my bookstore keeps a list of everyone who wants a copy as to guarantee them a book on 7/16 (at 40% off, whee!). And don't order Amazon folks. Don't run to Barnes and Noble or Borders. Support your local bookstore! We need you!

Thanks for the feedback to those who did so before the thread derailed and all the passengers died a bloody death. I think the next issue should be improved for some of the suggestions.

One of the engineers at my boyfriend's company was having a party. A party-goer noticed that one wall in the living room was a gigantic whiteboard. He asked the engineer about it. Quoth the engineer, "It's great! We use it to plan our family vacations!."
