My non-caring about sports aside, this was a tremendous article from Drew, very nicely researched and written. Bravo!

Awesome article, Drew! Well written, and a few of your choices actually surprised me, since they weren't quite as testosterone-fueled as I thought they might be. You even mentioned my name, which makes me feel validated in an completely egocentric Kylesque way!
Nice job!

I too have to compliment Drew on his fine article. It's a damn nice piece of work. Even upped our use of the phrase "taut, firm ass" to USDA requirements, so kudos there, buddy.
But.
I know I'm the only one who could possibly care about this, but DAMN.
Eight years previous to the Miracle run, the Canadians played the Russians in 1972. It was a brutal, savage throw-down. It was open hatred between teams. It was a battle for hockey supremacy against a Soviet team that regularly disregarded rules for player safety in the interest of winning at all costs. Culminating in an eighth game late goal by Paul Henderson, the Canadians were FINALLY able to best these supposedly invincible hockey players and bring it all home.
Eight years previous. And I've never met an American who actually has ever heard of this.
Grr... mumble... Drew... whip cream in socks... your little dog too...

Canadians play hockey? I thought that was a myth, like the Yeti.

They have lots of forests in Canada, don't they?

Does that mean if they DID make a film about something, it DID happen? Cause man, we all owe Will Smith an awful lot for stopping the alien invasion with an earth-based computer virus.
Hooray for Will Smith!

I agree- great article, especially since Rudy getting to play is probably one of my all-time favorite sports moments ever.
Nothing more interesting to say.
