I liked the movie because it was cheesy. And that president's speech as cheesy as it was, still felt like a good speech. Anyways, good review overall.
I've got a little tidbit of info for you. The scene where the jet fighters are coming up to the 'unknown object' coming out of the clouds (actually one of the large motherships) is taken almost frame by frame from the classic anime movie Project A-Ko.
