Sometimes movies look too good for me to be disapointed with. I've watched the Millions preview a kagillion times (it precedes Garden State) and been choked up enough by it that I didn't want to take a chance with the movie not being as good as the preview. I actually think about crap like this. Welcome to my head.
But thanks for alleviating my concerns, I'm sure to have a lovely time renting it now that I'm assured it's good. I love how your review had the feel of a befuddled person trying to say how uplifting a film is but can't seem to find the right words because there are no real right words for something that really uplifts you. The review gets the point across very well. Rent Millions today; I so am.

Hope it won't disappoint! I know how it is with people almost overhyping a film -- it's practically a pasttime of ours at MRFH -- and then someone who goes into seeing it with a huge load of expectations almost can't help but be let down.
Don't get me wrong, Millions does have its flaws and niggles, but I personaly think it was by far and away the best movie I saw last year, and it's a true shame it didn't get more recognition or watchers than it did. It's interesting to check out the online reviews, many of which are just as positive (I think this got an 88% fresh rating at RottenTomatoes with official critics, but 100% fresh with reader reviews).

I'm so glad to see this one reviewed! And a good review at that. I love this movie. It's one of my "reset button" movies. One of the "I need a break from the average movie" movies.
Way back when we had the "Seven Deadly Sins" thread and it went all Seven Virtues I was gonna use this as Prudence, but didn't have the time to post. Come back and the Head Mutant himself took my pick.
...Jerk. (kidding!)

Just a quick kudo. Last month, Justin recommended "Millions" to me, and while I'll admit I'm always a little dubious when people bounce up and down (like toddlers with too much kool-aid and not a potty in sight) with excitement over a flick, he was right. Spawn of Mutant2 and I were totally charmed and it's definitely on my review list.
Nice catch, Justin! Really great review too!
